Objectives: To investigate the clinical characteristics and prognosis of infants and young children with basal ganglia infarction after minor head trauma (BGIMHT).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data and follow-up results of children aged 28 days to 3 years with BGIMHT who were hospitalized at Children's Hospital of Soochow University from January 2011 to January 2022.
Results: A total of 45 cases of BGIMHT were included, with the most common symptom being limb movement disorders (96%, 43/45), followed by facioplegia (56%, 25/45).
Background: Glucose transporter 1 deficiency syndrome (Glut1DS) was initially reported by De Vivo and colleagues in 1991. This disease arises from mutations in the SLC2A1 and presents with a broad clinical spectrum. It is a treatable neuro-metabolic condition, where prompt diagnosis and initiation of ketogenic dietary therapy can markedly enhance the prognosis.

However, the evolution of CRLM during drug treatment remains poorly elucidated. Multi-omics and treatment response data from 115 samples of 49 patients with CRLM undergoing bevacizumab (BVZ)-based chemotherapy show little difference in genomic alterations in 92% of cases, while remarkable differences are observed at the transcriptomic level.

Although long-distance migration is well documented in China, patterns of transboundary migration among China, Russia and Mongolia are largely unknown. We performed a phase analysis of L.

Nusinersen, an antisense oligonucleotide, was approved for SMA in China in February 2019. We report interim results from a post-marketing surveillance phase 4 study, PANDA (NCT04419233), that collects data on the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of nusinersen in children with SMA in routine clinical practice in China.

However, the highly similar speckle patterns of adjacent OAM modes produced by strong mode coupling in common fibers prevent the utility of OAM channel demultiplexing. In this paper, we propose a machine learning-supported fractional OAM-multiplexed data transmission system to sort highly scattered data from up to 32 multiplexed OAM channels propagating through a commercial multi-mode fiber parallelly with an accuracy of >99.

Methods: In this study, 89 children with SeLECTS who were treated with LCM monotherapy in the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University from June 2019 to June 2021 were included. Clinical seizures and spike wave index (SWI) on video EEG during slow-wave sleep were evaluated before and after treatment.
The orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light, possessing an infinite-dimensional degree of freedom, holds significant potential to enhance the capacity of optical communication and information processing in both classical and quantum regimes. Despite various methods developed to accurately measure OAM modes, the probing limit of the highest-order OAM remains an open question. Here, we report an accurate recognition of superhigh-order OAM using a convolutional neural network approach with an improved ResNeXt architecture, based on conjugated interference patterns.

This study aimed to assess the utility of serum YKL-40 and serum dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP4) as biomarkers for distinguishing between type 2 (T2)-high and T2-low asthma in the Chinese population. Additionally, we sought to explore the associations of serum YKL-40 and DPP4 levels with asthma characteristics and conventional markers. A real-world observational cross-sectional study was conducted, involving a total of 75 adult asthma patients.

In our previous study, we found provides risk cues to melon aphids, resulting in increased numbers of winged aphids. However, the effects of predation risk on multiple traits including behavior, physiology, growth rate, and reproductive capacity of pests are not clear.

After undergoing abdominal CT, MRI, MRCP, ERCP examinations, together with joint diagnosis by the radiology department and the gastroscopy unit, the diagnosis of a cystic dilatation of the common bile duct was excluded, and to preliminarily diagnose as cystic lesion at the hepatoduodenum ligament. A nasobiliary tube was preset before the surgery, and it was found that the gallbladder, the cyst, and the common bile duct were connected in sequence during the surgery, leading to the definitive diagnosis of biliary cyst of the cystic duct.

We showed that long-term ABX did not affect EAU, but another study showed that short-term ABX was protective. We therefore studied the effects of ABX on EAU, gut microbiota, and host immune responses as a function of treatment duration.

In this study, we combined a cytokine array and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to identify new cytokines in the plasma from children on early stage of the onset of epilepsy (EOE) and children with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). Compared with healthy controls, a broad up-regulation of cytokines was observed in patients with EOE, and many of the cytokines were not previously reported.

We profile immune cells in glioma microenvironment and the matched peripheral blood from 11 patients. Glioblastoma exhibits specific infiltration of blood-originated monocytes expressing epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) ligands EREG and AREG, coined as tumor-associated monocytes (TAMo).

PHAs, a class of biodegradable polyesters, can replace conventional plastics in many applications while providing full degradation in all biologically active environments. Here we report the production of the PHA poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (PHB) in the seed cytosol of the emerging bioenergy crop Camelina sativa engineered with a bacterial PHB biosynthetic pathway.

Background: Despite improved surgical techniques, anastomotic leakage is still a serious complication that can occur after colon cancer resection, resulting in increased morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors for anastomotic leakage after colon cancer surgery, provide a theoretical basis for reducing its occurrence, and guide the practice of clinicians.
Methods: A systematic review of PubMed, Ovid, Web of Science and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases was conducted by using a combination of subject terms and free words for online searches.
