Background: Vulnerable carotid plaque is closely associated with ischemic stroke. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HR-MRI) are two imaging modalities capable of assessing the vulnerability of carotid plaques.
