Experimental results and empirical models are presented to characterize the kinetics of BSA hydrogel microsphere degradation, as well as the accompanying release of synthesized fluorophore. The BSA gel degradation dynamics is primarily controlled by the concentration of proteinase K within the Tris buffer.
