The surgical risk is higher for obese patients undergoing laparoscopic left hemicolectomy. To enhance the surgical safety and efficacy for obese patients, we have innovatively integrated the advantages of various surgical approaches to modify a pancreas-guided C-shaped surgical procedure. The safety and quality were assessed through a retrospective analysis.

Deep learning UAV target tracking methods based on the Siamese family have achieved significant results but still face challenges regarding accuracy and speed compatibility. In this study, in order to refine the feature representation and reduce the computational effort to improve the efficiency of the tracker, we perform feature fusion in deep inter-correlation operations and introduce a global attention mechanism to enhance the model's field of view range and feature refinement capability to improve the tracking performance for small targets.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between ApoE polymorphism and risk of cognitive decline and dementia incidence in the elderly without dementia.
The current treatments and drugs of myocardial infarction (MI) remain insufficient. In recent years, natural products have garnered significant attention for their potential in treating cardiovascular diseases due to their availability and lower toxicity. Saponins, in particular, showed promising effects for cardiac protection.

The hippocampus is very important in the nervous system. It has the ability to control human behavior, memory, emotion, and so on.

The death of foamy macrophages is a main contributor to plaque progression, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing demonstrated that massive iron accumulation in advanced atherosclerosis promoted foamy macrophage ferroptosis, particularly in low expression of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) foamy macrophages.

Method: We conducted a systematic review and network meta-analysis, which included 21 comparative studies and 40 noncomparative studies.
Results: The three thermal ablation techniques showed significant superiority over surgical resection in terms of operative time, pain, cost, quality of life, and complications.

Background: Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) are common forms of dementia, characterized by overlapping clinical symptoms. Functional neuroimaging can provide valuable information for precise diagnosis. Our objective was to explore cerebral perfusion alterations in DLB and AD, and to determine which perfusion parameters are helpful in distinguishing DLB and AD.

Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis, including 14 comparative studies and 7 noncomparative studies, was conducted, encompassing a total of 9,397 patients.
Results: AS was associated with lower rates of familial history of thyroid cancer, multiplicity, and overall mortality compared to IS.
Objectives: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a common and sometimes fatal disease affecting premature infants. Elevated formate has been found in the stool of patients with NEC. Sodium formate (NaF) is used to explore the role of formate in the intestinal epithelial injury.

Objective: To update the prevalence rate and risk factors of dementia in China.
The preservation of the left colic artery (LCA) during rectal cancer resection remains a topic of controversy, and there is a notable absence of robust evidence regarding the outcomes associated with LCA preservation. And the advantages of robotic-assisted laparoscopy (RAL) surgery in rectal resection remain uncertain. The objective of this study was to assess the influence of LCA preservation surgery and RAL surgery on intraoperative and postoperative complications of rectal cancer resection.

Background: The NLRP3 inflammasome is a cytoplasmic polymeric protein complex composed of the cytoplasmic sensor NLRP3, the apoptosis-related spot-like protein ASC, and the inflammatory protease caspase-1. NLRP3 activates and releases IL-1β through classical pathways, and IL-18 mediates inflammation and activates gasdermin-D protein to induce cellular pyroptosis. Numerous studies have also emphasized the non-classical pathway activated by the NLRP3 inflammasome in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the inflammasome-independent function of NLRP3.

Prior research by our group revealed reactive gliosis in Müller cells within myopic retina, prompting further investigation of their role in myopia, which remains unclear. In this study, we analyzed protein expression changes in CD29+ Müller cells isolated from a form deprivation-induced rabbit model of myopia using magnetic activated cell sorting to investigate the role of these cells in myopia.

This study introduces a long-lasting antibacterial, non-cytotoxic, transparent nanocoating for CLs via a solvent-free polymer deposition method, aiming to prevent bacterial keratitis. The nanocoating comprises stacked polymer films, with poly(dimethylaminomethyl styrene-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (pDE) as a biocompatible, antibacterial layer atop poly(2,4,6,8-tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane) (pV4D4) as an adhesion-promoting layer.
