Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Huachansu (HCS), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has been used as an adjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer (CRC). However, its underlying mechanisms for combating CRC require further investigation.
Aim Of This Study: To comprehensively evaluate the anti-CRC effects of HCS and elucidate its underlying mechanisms, with a focus on elucidating the key pathways and targets involved.

Aiming at the problems of scarce datasets and the low identification accuracy faced in the field of weld-crack detection, this paper proposes an artificial-weld-crack preparation method based on the doping of dissimilar metal particles to augment the number of samples of weld-crack defects. Meanwhile, data augmentation methods such as random cropping, scaling and Mosaic are combined to further enhance the richness of the samples, so as to provide strong data support for the proposed weld-crack-defect detection model. We developed, trained, and validated an artificial-intelligence-based "Automated Visual Evaluation" (AVE) tool that can be adapted to run on smartphones to assess smartphone-captured images of the cervix and identify precancerous lesions, helping augment VIA performance.

This study investigates the effects of forest aging on ectomycorrhizal (EcM) fungal community and foraging behavior and their interactions with plant-soil attributes. We explored EcM fungal communities and hyphal exploration types via rDNA sequencing and investigated their associations with plant-soil traits by comparing younger (~120 years) and older (~250 years) temperate forest stands in Northeast China. The results revealed increases in the EcM fungal richness and abundance with forest aging, paralleled by plant-soil feedback shifting from explorative to conservative nutrient use strategies.

Here, it is reported that by programmably integrating newly developed 1D quasi-periodic folding structures into a 3D photonic crystal, the generated photonic superstructure exhibits distinctive optical effects that combine independently manipulatable specular and anisotropic diffuse reflections within a versatile protein-based platform, thus creating different optical channels for structural color imaging. The polymorphic transition of the protein format allows for the facile modulation of both folding patterns and photonic lattices and, therefore, the superstructure's spectral response within each channel.
