Purpose: The effect of allergic rhinitis (AR) on autonomic nervous system in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) remains unclear. We utilized heart rate variability (HRV) analysis to assess cardiac autonomic activity in patients with OSA, comparing those with and without allergic rhinitis (AR).
Methods: We enrolled 182 patients who visited our sleep clinic complaining of habitual snoring or apnea during sleep.

Methods: Total 60 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy were allocated to either a study group (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m) or a control group (BMI < 25 kg/m). The endotracheal intubation was performed with a high-volume low-pressure cuffed oral endotracheal tube.

Methods: The study was conducted in a single center, prospective, randomized (1:1) parallel group trial. Patients undergoing total hip replacement or hemiarthroplasty were randomly divided into two groups according to the surgery start time: 8 AM (Group A) or 1-2 PM (Group B).
Objective: The main objectives of this article were to assess the effect of preoperative transdermal fentanyl patch (TFP) on interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8 levels and pain after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
Materials And Methods: Patients received a TFP (25 μg/h) (patch group, n=30) or a placebo patch (control group, n=30) applied 14 hours before operation. After surgery, control group received intravenous continuous fentanyl (25 μg/h) with loading dose (25 μg).
Backgroupd: This study investigated the plasma fentanyl concentration and efficacy of transdermal fentanyl patch (TFP) (25 μg/h) in the management of acute postoperative pain.
Methods: Patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomly allocated to 2 groups. The TFP group (n = 30) received a single TFP 25 μg/ h to the anterior chest wall 14 h before operation.

The aim of this study is to determine the range of S-100β levels during functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) when the mean arterial pressure (MAP) was controlled within 60-70 mmHg. After anesthesia induction with propofol and remifentanil, the patient was positioned in the reverse Trendelenburg position and MAP was controlled within 60-70 mmHg during surgery. For the S-100β assay, blood was taken from a radial arterial catheter before (baseline) and at 20 (T ) and 60 (T ) min after setting the reverse Trendelenburg position and controlled hypotension, and at 60 (T ) min after the end of the operation.

The study included 257 patients scheduled for simple elective surgeries involving the upper or lower extremities.
