This study aimed to resveratrol supplementation (at 5 or 10 mg/kg) and a hydroethanolic extract of canjiqueira fruits (150 mg/kg) on female SWISS mice. Total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), triglyceride levels, gestation rates, and embryonic implantation rates in their female Offspring was evaluated. In conclusion, the consumption of canjiqueira fruit extract altered the lipid profile of their female offspring, and did not impact their reproductive performance.

Article Synopsis
  • Differences in reproductive physiology between cattle breeds influence their responses to assisted reproductive techniques, suggesting the need for breed-specific protocols for better efficiency.
  • In this study, researchers found that Nelore cows had a higher percentage of advanced chromatin compaction (GV2 and GV3 stages) in their oocytes compared to Holsteins, indicating better developmental competence.
  • Two synchronization protocols were tested in Holsteins to improve oocyte quality, with the OPU/D5 protocol yielding more desirable GV stages and allowing further culture that enhanced chromatin configuration in oocytes, highlighting important breed differences in reproductive performance.
