Objectives: This review aims to evaluate several convolutional neural network (CNN) models applied to breast cancer detection, to identify and categorize CNN variants in recent studies, and to analyze their specific strengths, limitations, and challenges.
Methods: Using PRISMA methodology, this review examines studies that focus on deep learning techniques, specifically CNN, for breast cancer detection. Inclusion criteria encompassed studies from the past five years, with duplicates and those unrelated to breast cancer excluded.
Non-bovine dairy animals, commonly referred to as non-traditional dairy species, include goats, sheep, yaks, buffalo, donkeys, alpacas, llamas, and other less commonly farmed species. These animals have been integral to livestock systems since ancient times, providing milk and other essential products. Despite their historical significance, dairy production from many of these species remains predominantly confined to rural areas in developing countries, where scientific advancements and technical improvements are often limited.

Aiming to generate a novel live attenuated vaccine (LAV), a recombinant ASFV was generated by deleting the viral O174L (PolX) gene.

This study aimed to assess the effects of a group music therapy program based on different songwriting approaches applied to informal caregivers of older adults with dependency. A sample of 113 caregivers participated, being assigned either to the intervention ( = 60) or the control group ( = 53).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAstrogliosis is a process by which astrocytes, when exposed to inflammation, exhibit hypertrophy, motility, and elevated expression of reactivity markers such as Glial Fibrillar Acidic Protein, Vimentin, and Connexin43. Since 1999, our laboratory in Chile has been studying molecular signaling pathways associated with "gliosis" and has reported that reactive astrocytes upregulate Syndecan 4 and αβ Integrin, which are receptors for the neuronal glycoprotein Thy-1. Thy-1 engagement stimulates adhesion and migration of reactive astrocytes and induces neurons to retract neurites, thus hindering neuronal network repair.

Here, we aimed to characterize the expression of these receptors in GBM to gain insight into their potential role as modulators of the intratumoral microenvironment.
Methods: We performed a transcriptomic analysis of several NK receptors with a focus on the activating receptor encoded by NKG2C, among bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing GBM data sets.

Purpose: To identify risk factors predisposing patients to poor outcomes after fixation of periprosthetic hip fractures around femoral stems.
Methods: Prospective multicentre cohort study of fractures around a hip replacement stem managed by internal fixation. The primary outcome was one-year mortality, while secondary outcomes were local complications and healthcare burden-related outcomes (nursing facility utilization and hospital length of stay).

Background: Some risk factors for breast reduction complications are well known but for others the results are contradictory in scientific literature. The choice between superior pedicle and superomedial pedicle as a risk factor has been rarely studied. We aim to better identify the risk factors for breast reduction complications, including the choice between these two pedicles, in order to better prevent their occurrence.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAstrocytes are the most abundant type of glial cell in the central nervous system. Upon injury and inflammation, astrocytes become reactive and undergo morphological and functional changes. Depending on their phenotypic classification as A1 or A2, reactive astrocytes contribute to both neurotoxic and neuroprotective responses, respectively.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAfrican swine fever virus (ASFV) is the etiological agent causing African swine fever (ASF), affecting domestic pigs and wild boar, which is currently the biggest animal epidemic in the world and a major threat to the swine sector. At present, some safety concerns about using LAVs against ASFV still exist despite a commercial vaccine licensed in Vietnam. Therefore, the efforts to identify virulence factors and their mechanisms, as well as to generate new vaccine prototypes, are of major interest.

The risk factors for these health issues have not been sufficiently investigated. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the potential predictors of overload in these parents, including QoL, somatic symptomatology, life satisfaction, psychological adjustment and certain sociodemographic variables.

Psychosocial interventions such as music therapy are important to work on their self-care. The aim of this study is to analyze, with a mixed method approach, the experience of participating in a Songwriting Group Music Therapy (SGMT) intervention on informal caregivers of EPD.

The sample comprised 433 adult RTI patients, admitted to the emergency department (ED) of a public hospital in Mexico City (January to April 2022). Breath Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was measured using a breath tester, and six types of drugs (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabis, cocaine, and methamphetamine) were assessed using a saliva screen test.

Purpose: After standard treatment for glioblastoma, perfusion MRI remains challenging for differentiating tumor progression from post-treatment changes. Our objectives were (1) to correlate rCBV values at diagnosis and at first tumor progression and (2) to analyze the relationship of rCBV values at tumor recurrence with enhancing volume, localization of tumor progression, and time elapsed since the end of radiotherapy in tumor recurrence.
Methods: Inclusion criteria were (1) age > 18 years, (2) histologically confirmed glioblastoma treated with STUPP regimen, and (3) tumor progression according to RANO criteria > 12 weeks after radiotherapy.

The objective of this paper was to identify the main indicators used to measure the performance in emergency trauma care. A literature review was carried out in the electronic databases: PubMEd, LILACS and Epistemónikos, including publications between January 2011 and December 31, 2021, in Spanish, English and Portuguese. A total of 962 publications were identified.

African swine fever virus (ASFV) is the cause of the current major animal epidemic worldwide. This disease affects domestic pigs and wild boars, has spread since 2007 through Russia, Eastern Europe, and more recently to Western European countries, and since 2018 emerged in China, from where it spread throughout Southeast Asia. Recently, outbreaks have appeared in the Caribbean, threatening the Americas.
