The assessment of rainwater-harvesting demand (RWHD) map and the identification of appropriate priority-based locations for rainwater-harvesting (RWH) and groundwater recharge structures are very crucial for the water managers, particularly in irrigation commands. This study addresses this challenge by using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) and geospatial techniques to present a novel and robust approach for generating RWHD map and identifying sites/zones for distinct RWH and groundwater recharge on a priority basis. Primary thematic layers such as existing irrigation water supply, irrigation demand, and groundwater potential were considered in this study for delineating RWHD zones.

Three-dimensional dendritic nanostructured carbon florets (NCFs) with tailored porosity are demonstrated as electrochemically versatile electrodes for both adsorptive and intercalative energy storage pathways. Achieved through a single-step template-driven approach, the NCFs exhibit turbostratic graphitic lamellae in a floral assembly leading to high specific surface area and multi-modal pore distribution (920 m/g). The synergism in structural and chemical frameworks, along with open-ended morphology, enables bifunctionality of hard carbon NCFs as symmetric adsorptive electrodes for supercapacitors (SCs) and intercalation anodes for hybrid potassium-ion capacitors (KICs).

CD40-Ligand (CD40L)-CD40 interaction regulates immune responses against pathogens, autoantigens, and tumor and transplantation antigens. Single amino acid mutations within the 115-155 amino acids stretch, which is responsible for CD40L functions, result in XIgM syndrome. We hypothesize that each of these amino acids of CD40L encodes specific message that, when decoded by CD40 signaling, induces a specific profile of functions.

In a post hoc analysis, the effect of pimavanserin on anxious depression was determined from CLARITY, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in patients with major depression and an inadequate response to previous therapy. Patients were randomized in a 3:1 ratio to placebo or pimavanserin 34 mg daily added to ongoing antidepressant therapy. At 5 weeks, placebo nonresponders were rerandomized to placebo or pimavanserin for an additional 5 weeks.

Identification of critical erosion-prone areas and selection of best management practices (BMPs) for watersheds are necessary to control their degradation by reducing sediment yields. The current research assesses and proposes a combination of potential BMPs for the Baitarani catchment in India using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT). After the successful calibration and validation of the SWAT model developed for this catchment, the model was applied to evaluate the efficacy of eight agricultural and structural management practices and their combinations (three scenarios) for controlling sediment yields at watershed and sub-watershed levels as well as to assess the impacts of combined BMPs on water balance components.

Background: This report seeks to evaluate improvements in symptoms of irritability with sertraline (a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant) versus placebo.

Methods: Participants of Establishing Moderators and Biosignatures of Antidepressant Response in Clinical Care (EMBARC) study who were randomized to 8 weeks of treatment with either sertraline or placebo and completed 5-item irritability domain of Concise Associated Symptom Tracking scale (CAST-IRR) at baseline were included (n = 292). Repeated measures mixed model analysis with CAST-IRR as the outcome variable and treatment arm-by-time interaction as the independent variable of interest evaluated whether changes in irritability with treatment differed between sertraline and placebo arms.
