Strongyloides stercoralis hyperinfection poses a great challenge to physicians in the tropics due to their non-specific symptoms and signs. Early identification and initiation of treatment improves mortality rates. Reports of Strongyloides infection in Hansens disease, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), organ transplant recipients and malnourished individuals have been reported in the published literature.
