RIPK1/RIPK3-MLKL signaling molecules are fundamental in initiating necroptotic cell death, but their roles in the development of colon cancer are unclear. This study reports that RIPK3 interacted with SPOP, a component of the E3 ligase within the Cul3 complex. This interaction leads to K48-linked ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of RIPK3.

Purpose: Calibration of an optical see-through head-mounted display is critical for augmented reality-based surgical navigation. While conventional methods have advanced, calibration errors remain significant. Moreover, prior research has focused primarily on calibration accuracy and procedure, neglecting the impact on the overall surgical navigation system.

This study reports that α-MSH, not UVA and UVB, acted as a major stimulus of melanogenesis in B16F10 melanoma cells. Signaling pathway analysis using gene knockdown technology and chemical inhibitors, the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)/p90 ribosomal S6 kinase 2 (RSK2) played an important role in melanogenesis.

Elucidating additional mechanisms that govern cancer cell death is crucial for developing new therapies. Our research identified cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 3 (CREB3) as a crucial regulator and initiator of a unique cell death mechanism known as karyoptosis.

To overcome malocclusion caused by overlooking dental articulation, this study aims to provide a model for jawbone reduction based on dental occlusion. After dental landmarks and fracture sectional features are extracted, the maxilla and two mandible segments are aligned first using the extracted dental landmarks.

They are synthesised at accelerator laboratories using nuclear fusion, where two atomic nuclei collide, stick together (capture), then with low probability evolve to a compact superheavy nucleus. The fundamental microscopic mechanisms controlling fusion are not fully understood, limiting predictive capability.

Background And Objectives: An augmented reality (AR)-based surgical guidance system is often used with high-magnification zoom lens systems such as a surgical microscope, particularly in neurology or otolaryngology. To superimpose the internal structures of relevant organs on the microscopy image, an accurate calibration process to obtain the camera intrinsic and hand-eye parameters of the microscope is essential. However, conventional calibration methods are unsuitable for surgical microscopes because of their narrow depth of focus at high magnifications.

Background And Objectives: Intraoperative joint condition is different from preoperative CT/MR due to the motion applied during surgery, inducing an inaccurate approach to surgical targets. This study aims to provide real-time augmented reality (AR)-based surgical guidance for wrist arthroscopy based on a bone-shift model through an in vivo computed tomography (CT) study.
Methods: To accurately visualize concealed wrist bones on the intra-articular arthroscopic image, we propose a surgical guidance system with a novel bone-shift compensation method using noninvasive fiducial markers.
E2F 1, 2, and 3a, (refer to as E2Fs) are a subfamily of E2F transcription factor family that play essential roles in cell-cycle progression, DNA replication, DNA repair, apoptosis, and differentiation. Although the transcriptional regulation of E2Fs has focused on pocket protein retinoblastoma protein complex, recent studies indicate that post-translational modification and stability regulation of E2Fs play key roles in diverse cellular processes. In this study, we found that FBXO1, a component of S-phase kinase-associated protein 1 (SKP1)-cullin 1-F-box protein (SCF) complex, is an E2Fs binding partner.

Methods: We used a 13-year follow-up in a nationwide retrospective cohort study. A total of 363,137 employees were recruited.
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 3 (ERK3) is an atypical member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family, members of which play essential roles in diverse cellular processes during carcinogenesis, including cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and invasion. Unlike other MAPKs, ERK3 is an unstable protein with a short half-life. Although deubiquitination of ERK3 has been suggested to regulate the activity, its ubiquitination has not been described in the literature.

Background: Firefighters inevitably encounter emotionally and physically stressful situations at work. Even firefighters without diagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder receive clinical attention because the nature of the profession exposes them to repetitive trauma and high occupational stress. This study investigated gray matter abnormalities related to high occupational stress in firefighters using voxel-based morphometry (VBM) and surface-based morphometry (SBM).

TDHF calculations showed good agreement with average experimental values, but experimental mass distributions unexpectedly extended to symmetric splits while the peak yield remained close to the initial masses. This implies a strong role of fluctuations in mass division early in the collision, giving insights into the transition from fast energy dissipative deep-inelastic collisions to quasifission.

The lattice of LDH was partially dissolved during the reaction by Ag. The released hydroxyl and citrate acted as a reactant in crystal growth and a size controlling capping agent, respectively.

This study examined the association of emotional labor and organizational climate with burnout and elucidated the moderating effect of organizational climate on the relationship between emotional labor and burnout among 18,936 Korean firefighters (male: 17,790, 93.9%, female: 1146, 6.1%).

Quantitative analysis with inductively coupled plasma-mass spectroscopy exhibited that Ga was first incorporated into LDH through partial dissolution-precipitation at the edge of LDH particle and homogeneously distributed throughout the particle by substitution of Ga for Al in LDH frame works. The powder X-ray diffraction patterns showed that the Ga incorporation did not affect the crystal structure without evolution of unexpected impurities.

Methods: The data were obtained from the study Firefighters Research: Enhancement of Safety and Health. A total of 4,860 firefighters whose main duty was providing "emergency medical aid" were included.
A layered double hydroxide (LDH)-based anticancer delivery system was investigated in terms of crystalline phase, particle size, hydrodynamic radius, zeta potential, etc. through in vitro and in vivo study. Size controlled LDH with anticancer drug methotrexate (MTX) incorporation was successfully prepared through step-by-step hydrothermal reaction and ion-exchange reaction.

Methods: In total, 358 clinical dental hygienists and dental hygiene students completed a structured questionnaire to evaluate their level of ethical awareness and medical ethics competency. The sub-factors of medical ethics were classified into relationships with patients, medical and social relations, and individual specialized fields.
Background: The current lack of the number of nurses and high nurse turnover rate leads to major problems for the health-care system in terms of cost, patient care ability, and quality of care. Theoretically, burnout may help link emotional labor with turnover intention. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of burnout in the association between emotional labor and turnover intention in Korean clinical nurses.
