This article assesses the environmental impacts of aquatic biota cultivation, focusing on shrimp farming in Brazil's Northeast, as this practice has proven to be one of the main sources of economic growth in the region. For this purpose, sediment samples were collected from areas impacted and not directly impacted by shrimp farming, and concentrations of key geochemical parameters such as salinity, various elements (K, P, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn, Al, Ca, Fe, Mg, and Na), and natural radionuclides (K-40, Ra-226 and Ra-228) were compared using statistical tools. Element concentrations were determined using ICP-OES, and naturally occurring radionuclide concentrations were obtained through gamma spectrometry.

We present a case of refractory anemia in a 49-year-old male patient occurring within the initial month following a kidney transplant, which persisted despite numerous transfusions, posing a formidable challenge. The patient was maintained on the standard immunosuppressant regimen-Tacrolimus, Mycophenolate, and Prednisolone.

In this study, we aimed to propose changes in the protocol of cultured Astyanax altiparanae hypophysation to increase the maximum ovulation rate of 60% registered previously. In the first experiment, three carp pituitary homogenate (CPH) doses (3, 6, and 9 mg/kg) were administered in a single injection, while in the second experiment, the 6 mg/kg CPH dose was tested either in single or double injections.

The development of an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for storing H into CO and releasing it from the produced formic acid, when needed, is a crucial target for overcoming some intrinsic criticalities of green hydrogen exploitation, such as high flammability, low density, and handling. Herein, we report an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for both reactions prepared by immobilizing a molecular iridium organometallic catalyst onto a high-surface mesoporous silica, through a sol-gel methodology. The presence of tailored single-metal catalytic sites, derived by a suitable choice of ligands with desired steric and electronic characteristics, in combination with optimized support features, makes the immobilized catalyst highly active.

The development of products with buffalo milk has increased due to its peculiar characteristics, such as taste and high content of total solids, which has attracted consumers and the food industry.In this context, the objective was to develop and evaluate the microstructural properties of chocolates with different concentrations of buffalo milk powder (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) through polymorphism, microscopy and rheological studies. For the polymorphism, the X-ray diffraction technique (XRD) was performed, while the crystal morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
