Background: Same-day discharge after colectomy in enhanced recovery pathways has been shown to be feasible. It is not clear how early patients with rectal resections may be safely discharged. Urolithiasis is a prevalent urological condition characterized by stone formation in the urinary tract, but stones weighing more than 100 g are rare. The Mayan and Mestizo populations in Yucatan have been identified as being at an increased risk of urolithiasis because of the coexistence of environmental, genetic, metabolic, and lifestyle risk factors. The patient's occupation may play a significant role in enhancing these factors.
