COMmunity-Based Nutrition RISK Screening in Older Adults Living Independently (COMRISK): Feasibility, Acceptability, and Appropriateness of Community Partnership Models in Alberta, Canada.

This feasibility study of routine nutrition risk screening in community-dwelling older adults using a partnership between health care and community-based organizations (CBO) aimed to (1) evaluate the ability of community-based partnerships to provide screening for nutrition risk, and appropriately refer at-risk individuals for follow-up care and (2) determine the barriers to and facilitators of screening. Adults 65 years of age and older were screened by staff in two primary care and one CBO setting using the Seniors in the Community: Risk Evaluation for Eating and Nutrition (SCREEN)-8 nutrition risk screening tool. Screeners, organization administrators, and registered dietitians responded to surveys regarding SCREEN-8 administration, referral processes, and partnership interactions.

The predictive value of comorbidities on postoperative complication rates and overall survival in left-sided oncological colorectal resections: a multicentre cohort study.

Introduction: Surgical- and nonsurgical complications significantly worsen postoperative outcomes, and identification of patients at risk is crucial to improve care. This study investigated whether comorbidities, graded by the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), impact complication rates and impair long-term outcome in a cohort of left-sided colorectal resections.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients undergoing oncological left-sided colorectal resections due to colorectal cancer between 01/2015 and 12/2020 in two referral centers in Austria using electronic medical records and national statistical bureau survival data.

Exploring the scope of post-intensive care syndrome therapy and care: engagement of non-critical care providers and survivors in a second stakeholders meeting.

Background: Increasing numbers of survivors of critical illness are at risk for physical, cognitive, and/or mental health impairments that may persist for months or years after hospital discharge. The post-intensive care syndrome framework encompassing these multidimensional morbidities was developed at the 2010 Society of Critical Care Medicine conference on improving long-term outcomes after critical illness for survivors and their families.

Objectives: To report on engagement with non-critical care providers and survivors during the 2012 Society of Critical Care Medicine post-intensive care syndrome stakeholder conference.
