Objective: To examine the prevalence and severity of postcesarean residual niche, evaluated using saline infusion sonohysterography, in an expanded cohort of women with one prior cesarean delivery and to assess the effect of uterine closure technique on the risk of placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders.

Methods: This secondary analysis includes 70 patients who underwent saline infusion sonohysterography after one prior cesarean delivery. Patients were grouped according to hysterotomy closure technique: two-layer endometrium-free closure (technique A), and two- or one-layer routine closures (technique B).

Background: Biologically active cervical glands provide a mucous barrier while influencing the composition and biomechanical strength of the cervical extracellular matrix. Cervical remodeling during ripening may be reflected as loss of the sonographic cervical gland area. As sonographic cervical length remains suboptimal for universal screening, adjunctive evaluation of other facets of the mid-trimester cervix may impart additional screening benefit.

Salinity stress constrains lateral root (LR) growth and severely affects plant growth. Auxin signaling regulates LR formation, but the molecular mechanism by which salinity affects root auxin signaling and whether salt induces other pathways that regulate LR development remains unknown. Methods: This is a prospective cohort study of patients completing ERAC quality-of-life questionnaires (ERAC-Q) during inpatient recovery after cesarean delivery (CD) between October 2019 and September 2020, before and after the implementation of our ERAC protocol. Patients with non-Pfannenstiel incision, ICU admission, massive transfusion, bowel injury, existing chronic pain disorders, acute postpartum depression, or neonatal demise were excluded.

A 7-year-old boy presented to the emergency department with fever, cough, congestion, abdominal pain, myalgias, and morbilliform rash. On 20 October 2020, the Working Group "Exposure Models" of the Europe Regional Chapter of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES Europe) organised an online workshop to discuss the theoretical background of models for the assessment of occupational exposure to chemicals. In this report, participants of the workshop with an active role before and during the workshop summarise the most relevant discussion points and conclusions of this well-attended workshop. Background: Substance use disorders, including opioid use disorder (OUD), are understood as chronic diseases with a relapsing and remitting course and no known cure. Medications for OUD (MOUD) are well established with decades of evidence supporting their safety and efficacy; however, treatment access remains poor and inequitable. Buprenorphine is an MOUD that can be prescribed in a primary care outpatient setting, although regulatory and administrative challenges are a barrier to prescribing it.

Objective: SARS-CoV-2 is known to impact multiple organ systems, with growing data to suggest the potential for placental infection and resultant pathology. Understanding how maternal COVID-19 disease can affect placental histopathology has been limited by small study cohorts with mild disease, review by multiple pathologists, and potential confounding by maternal-fetal comorbidities that can also influence placental findings. This study aims to identify pathologic placental findings associated with COVID-19 disease and severity, as well as to distinguish them from changes related to coexisting maternal-fetal comorbidities.
