Objective: To map evidence on nursing care for women with HELLP syndrome.
Method: A scoping review with searches carried out in May 2023, independently, in the PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS, Scopus, EMBASE, Web of Science, CINAHL, CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog and Cochrane Library databases, correlating the descriptors HELLP Syndrome, Nursing Care and Obstetric Nursing and its synonyms, without delimitation of time and language. Selection was carried out by three researchers independently and resolved by consensus.
Context: Consumption of the Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) has beneficial effects on cardiometabolic health and aging.
Objective: This systematic review aimed to critically investigate the effect of the MedDiet on glycation markers in healthy or overweight individuals with type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
Data Sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library were searched, using the terms "Mediterranean diet" AND "glycation end products, advanced".
Endometritis, the inflammation of the endometrium, is the leading cause of subfertility in mares, and therefore responsible for major economic losses in the horse industry worldwide. It is generally treated with uterine lavages combined with ecbolic agents and local or systemic antibiotics. However, since antibiotic overuse has been associated with antimicrobial resistance in mares with persistent endometritis, new prevention and treatment alternatives are needed.

Background: Despite the benefits of breastfeeding, early weaning is a reality, so less than 50% of children worldwide and in Brazil are on exclusive breastfeeding in the sixth month of life. A strategy to counteract this scenario is breastfeeding counseling. This study aims to verify the effectiveness of individualized counseling by nurses trained in breastfeeding counseling, on the duration of exclusive breastfeeding, compared to standard care.

Six cats with urethral rupture and 8 cats with urethral stricture and a history of urethrostomy were included. The inclusion criteria were the indication for urethroplasty and limited urethral length for perineal urethrostomy.

Method: Methodological study in two stages: 1 - elaboration of the checklist of the procedure for cleaning the umbilical cord and of the clinical case; and 2 - development of the simulated scenario. A Content Validity Index of 0.
Objective: to determine the profile of pregnancies and prevalence of adherence to puerperal consultation among adolescent puerperal women compared to non-adolescent puerperal women served in an outpatient clinic of a teaching hospital in the rural area of Minas Gerais.
Method: cross-sectional study nested in a cohort of puerperal women; non-probabilistic sample, by convenience; adolescent pregnancy - dependent variable; sociodemographic, clinical and obstetric - independent variables. It employed its own instrument, tested by means of a pilot test.
Aims: The aim was to complement the evaluation of functional and safety properties of beneficial vaginal lactic acid bacteria to select the most adequate strains as potential probiotics for their inclusion in a vaginal probiotic formula.
Methods And Results: Twenty-four beneficial vaginal lactic acid bacteria strains previously isolated from healthy women were characterized by applying phenotypical and genetic techniques. The biofilm formation and exopolysaccharide production by the different strains showed a strong influence of the growth medium on the expression of these properties.
Lactobacilli are the predominant microorganisms of the healthy human vagina. A novel alternative for the prevention and treatment of female urogenital tract infections (UGTI) is the inclusion of these microorganisms as active pharmaceutical ingredients in probiotic formulas, and more recently in female hygienic products. Probiotics are defined as "live microorganisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.

Hepatitis C is considered a major public health problem caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Viral infections are known to induce production of IL1β through the signaling pathway of inflammasomes. Emerging evidences suggest that Inflammasome genes may influence the immune response against HCV as the host genetic background may contribute to the balance between acute and chronic inflammation.

In this work, the survival of human vaginal Lactobacillus gasseri CRL1320 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus CRL1332 after nanofiber-immobilization by electrospinning with polyvinyl-alcohol, and during storage was evaluated. The optimization of bacterial immobilization and storage conditions using bioprotectors (skim milk-lactose and glycerol) and oxygen-excluding packaging was carried out, compared with lyophilization.

The measurements used were dorsal margin distance (DMD) and ventral margin distance (VMD) of the liver, viewable extension (VE) of the liver, the caudal vena cava (CVC), width (CVCW) and depth (CVCD) and the portal vein (PV), width (PVW) and depth (PVD). The measures DMD, VMD and VE were similar, and the organ's longest visible extension was in 11th ICS.

The resistance to higher temperature is an essential feature of these microorganisms when working on the design of products for vaginal formula. In order to obtain a high number of viable cells and a prolonged shelf life in the designed product, it is required to apply technological procedures using high temperatures or abrupt changes of them, which result in conditions that are different from the optimal growth temperature and can affect the metabolic capabilities of the bacteria when administered to the host in order to reestablish the ecological mucosa.

Their protective role in the vagina can be mediated by Lactobacillus cells themselves, metabolites or bacterial components, able to interfere with pathogen adhesion and infectivity.

Probiotics are used to restore the vaginal microbiome by local administration. However, the ascendant colonization is proposed as a way to restore the vaginal balance, and to exert some complementary effects on the host, situation that requires that probiotic strains resist the gastrointestinal tract passage.

The therapeutic strategies used in the treatment of hepatitis C are essentially based on the combination of direct-acting antiviral agents (DAAs). This therapy has been shown to be very effective in relation to patient adherence to treatment and has shown high rates of sustained virological response (SVR). However, the immunological dynamics of patients infected with HCV is poorly understood.

Healthy vaginal microbiota is dominated by lactobacilli, which form a strong defense line against pathogens. In this work, in vitro antimicrobial properties of thirty vaginal Lactobacillus strains were evaluated against eleven Candida vaginal clinical isolates, employing three different methods.

Important metabolic changes occur during transition period of late pregnancy and early lactation to meet increasing energy demands of the growing fetus and for milk production. The aim of this investigation is to present an innovative and non-invasive tool using ewe earwax sample analysis to assess the metabolic profile in ewes during late pregnancy and early lactation. In this work, earwax samples were collected from 28 healthy Brazilian Santa Inês ewes divided into 3 sub-groups: 9 non-pregnant ewes, 6 pregnant ewes in the last 30 days of gestation, and 13 lactating ewes ≤ 30 days postpartum.

However, the major proteins of the insulin signaling pathway (ISP) and the possible pathway component recruited on the potentiating effect of insulin had not been characterized. A second question raised was whether windows of sensitivity to insulin exist in the pineal gland due to insulin rhythmic secretion pattern.
