Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed how well machine learning and radiomics from multiparameter MRIs can predict risk levels and cancer stages in endometrial cancer patients.
  • Researchers analyzed MRI data from 110 patients, focusing on 110 radiomic features extracted from different MRI sequences (T2WI, CE-T1WI, DWI).
  • The combined radiomics model demonstrated strong predictive accuracy with area under the curve (AUC) values ranging from 0.87 to 0.90 for differentiating between early and advanced stages, and low- and high-risk histologic features, suggesting its potential to improve preoperative risk assessment.

Preoperative diagnosis of peritoneal tuberculosis is often difficult because of confusion with ovarian cancer. A 56-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with abdominal fullness. Ascites, prominent bilateral ovaries, and elevated CA-125 were noted.

History A 45-year-old woman presented with a 4-day history of abdominal discomfort, nausea, and vomiting and a 1-month history of poor appetite and weight loss. Her white blood cell count was normal. Physical examination revealed a palpable mass in the abdominopelvic region.

We report computed tomography (CT) findings for a rare case of follicular dendritic cell sarcoma of the greater omentum from a 47-year-old female patient. The tumor presented ash a palpable mass lesion in the umbilical region for the last two months. Multidetector CT scan of the abdomen showed a 14-cm soft-tissue mass with calcification and necrosis within the greater omentum.

Inflammatory pseudotumors rarely occur in the spleen. We report such a case with characteristic computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings. A CT scan showed an isodense nodular mass with gradual mild enhancement on delayed-phase contrast-enhanced images.

Gluteal intramuscular myxomas with MR images have not been reported before. A 45-year-old man presented with a palpable mass in his right buttock for several months. Magnetic resonance imaging showed an intramuscular cystic lesion with homogeneous signal intensity at the right gluteus muscle, and the mass had thin peripheral enhancement after gadolinium administration.

We presented a case of a 63-year-old man with type 2 diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. Precontrast CT images showed atrophy of kidneys bilaterally and calcification of the abdominal aorta, small branches of bilateral renal arteries and small arteries of the pelvis, including the internal pudendal artery and penile artery. Postcontrast CT scans revealed a nonenhancing glans penis with a clear margin relative to normal tissue.

Introduction: Cerebral subarachnoid hemorrhage may result from rupture of saccular aneurysms at uncommon location [excluding the anterior communicating artery (ACOM)] of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of helical computed tomography angiography (CTA) in detection and characterization of intracranial aneurysms at such uncommon locations before emergent surgical clipping.

Materials And Methods: Between 1998 and 2003, records for 50 consecutive patients who underwent emergent surgical clipping for intracranial aneurysms were reviewed.

Introduction: The malignant transformation of an ovarian mature cystic teratoma is rare. We presented such a case of a 46-year-old woman with characteristic computed tomography (CT) findings.

Case Report: The patient had suffered from fullness and tenderness of the lower abdomen for one year.

Study Design: A case report of an epidermoid cyst in the conus medullaris with characteristic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings.

Objective: To describe an epidermoid cyst in the conus medullaris with characteristic MRI findings and point out these findings that correlated well with histologic findings.

Setting: Taiwan.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the appearance of chest radiographs in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and correlate these findings with clinical outcomes.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the initial radiograph and a series of follow-up chest radiographs in 26 patients who had symptoms and signs consistent with SARS. Twenty-five patients completed the full course of radiographs in the hospital.
