Article Synopsis

  • TOT aims to minimize the risks of needle insertion and reduce complications such as perforation.
  • However, this report describes a case where the placement of the urethral sling using TOT resulted in injury to a branch of the left obturator artery, causing significant bleeding that required embolization to manage.

Retrocaval or circuncaval ureters are rare congenital anomaly, in which the ureter is located posterior to the inferior vena cava (IVC). Herein we report the case of a 62-year-old patient who underwent ultrasonography to investigate abdominal pain.
