This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of vitrectomy and sheathotomy in treating branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) using a nonrandomized case series.
Nine out of thirteen patients experienced a significant improvement in visual acuity following surgery, particularly those without prior posterior vitreous detachment (PVD).
The results indicated that while macular edema significantly decreased post-surgery, further research is required to optimize surgical strategies for managing BRVO.
