Antiplatelet activity and toxicity profile of novel phosphonium salts derived from Michael reaction.

In this work, five novel phosphonium salts derived from the Michael reaction were screened for their antiplatelet activity. Our findings revealed that compounds 2a, 2b, 2c, and 2d significantly inhibit platelet aggregation triggered by ADP or collagen (P < 0.001).

Molecular analysis of adenovirus strains responsible for gastroenteritis in children, under five, in Tunisia.

Purpose Of Work: Enteric Adenovirus (EAdV) is recognized as one of the most commonly identified agents responsible for severe acute gastroenteritis (AGEs) in the stools of infants.We sought to determine the rate of human adenovirus (HAdV) infections, and the genotypic characterization of circulating strains of HAdV in children under 5 years of age with AGEs in university and regional hospitals, located in the Center-East of Tunisia, from January 2014 to December 2016.

Methods: A classic PCR was performed on 582 stool samples taken within 5 days of the onset of symptoms.

We aimed to describe the clinical and biological characteristics and the prognosis of patients presenting with an additional light chain (LC) band along with a complete monoclonal protein on immunofixation (IF).An 8-year descriptive study was conducted to assess all cases with confirmed monoclonal gammopathies (MG). We studied those with an entire M-protein with 2 bands of LC of the same isotype based on the results of IF.

Here, we investigated the effect of primary wastewater irrigation on wood structure and composition of the willow cultivar 'SX67' following two years of growth.

Anti-mitochondrial antibodies detection assays for diagnosis of primary biliary cholangitis in southern Tunisia population.

Anti-mitochondrial antibodies (AMA) represent serological markers of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). Investigation of these autoantibodies can be performed by indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) on tissue sections or immunodot using M2 and M2-3E antigens. We aimed to evaluate the concordance of these immunological tests and their performance in PBC diagnosis.

Investigation of Genetic Causes in Patients with Congenital Heart Disease in Qatar: Findings from the Sidra Cardiac Registry.

Congenital heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common forms of birth defects worldwide, with a prevalence of 1-2% in newborns. CHD is a multifactorial disease partially caused by genetic defects, including chromosomal abnormalities and single gene mutations. Here, we describe the Sidra Cardiac Registry, which includes 52 families and a total of 178 individuals, and investigate the genetic etiology of CHD in Qatar.

The use of willow plantations can be a sustainable approach for treating primary municipal wastewater, potentially reducing both the environmental and economic burdens associated with conventional treatment. Autoantibodies against Desmoglein 1 and 3 in South Tunisian pemphigus.

Background: Desmoglein (Dsg) 1 and 3 are the 2 major autoantigens in pemphigus foliaceus (PF) and pemphigus vulgaris (PV).

Aim: We aimed to determine anti-Dsg1 and 3 Abs'usefulness in the diagnosis of pemphigus and to assess the correlation of these antibodies (Abs) with clinical phenotype and disease activity in south Tunisian patients.

Unexpected predominance of rotavirus G9P[8] strain in Tunisian adult diarrheal patients.

To compare RVA infections in patients from different age groups. Fecal samples were collected from patients aged from birth to 65 years, hospitalized or consulting for AGE between 2015 and 2017.

Molecular characterization of group A rotavirus among children aged under 5 years in Tunisia, 2015-2017.

The aim of the present study was to report the molecular characterization of human group A rotaviruses (RVAs) circulating in Tunisia. Stool specimens were collected from children under 5 years of age who had been hospitalized or were consulting for gastroenteritis in Tunisian hospitals between 2015 and 2017. All samples were screened by reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the detection of the VP6 gene specific for RVA.

Pemphigus herpetiformis in South Tunisia: a clinical expression of pemphigus foliaceus?

Background: Pemphigus herpetiformis (PH) is a rare subtype of pemphigus combining clinical features of dermatitis herpetiformis and the immunopathologic characteristics of pemphigus. We aimed to analyze the epidemiological, clinical, and immunological presentation and management of the disease in a cohort of south Tunisian patients with a long-term follow-up.

Methods: We included all patients with confirmed PH followed from January 1987 to December 2015 in the dermatology department.

[Positivity of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies in children: prevalence and etiologies].

In adults, anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are considered as serological markers of several diseases, especially vasculitis and glomerulonephritis. Since ANCA are rarely positive in children, few data about the clinical relevance of these auto-antibodies in pediatric population have been reported. Therefore, our study aims to describe the spectrum of disorders associated with positive ANCA in Tunisian children.
