Background: People living with cystic fibrosis in Denmark had early, universal access to triple modulator treatment with elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor. Close monitoring allowed us to assess the impact of treatment on lung function and progression of lung disease in an unselected nationwide cystic fibrosis population from 6 years of age.
Methods: Data were analysed using linear mixed-effect models to assess changes in levels and annual rates of change (slopes) in percent predicted (pp) forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV), forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory flow at 25-75% of FVC (ppFEF) between the 12 months pre-treatment and treatment periods.
Infections in pregnancy are common, and although often not harmful to the woman or her unborn child, some infections may be associated with severe adverse outcomes. Pregnancy causes physiological and immunological adaptations which may make pregnant women more susceptible to infections and at increased risk of more severe illness. Infections in pregnancy represent a challenging area of concern for many specialists and general practitioners.

CFTR modulator therapies, especially elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI), has improved CF outcomes. We report nationwide, real-world data on sweat chloride concentration in people with CF (pwCF) with and without modulator therapies.

NMR and MS approaches to metabolomics require, among other issues, a data processing pipeline. Quantitative assessment of the performance of these software platforms is challenged by a lack of standardized data sets with "known" outcomes.

This study aims to evaluate changes in key socioeconomic factors across three decades among people living with CF (pwCF), compared with both the general population and an early-onset chronic disease population.
Methods: This nationwide, registry-based, matched cohort study included all pwCF ≥ 18 years in Denmark in the years 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2018.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) care in Denmark has been characterized by close monitoring and pre-emptive treatment of lung disease and other CF-related complications. Continuous evaluation through data collection and commitment to clinical research has incrementally improved outcomes. This approach has been in line with best practices set forth by European Standards of Care but has also gone beyond Society standards particularly pertaining to early treatment with high-dose combination antimicrobial therapy.

Here we show that a combination of AlphaFold and all-atom symmetric docking simulations enables highly accurate prediction of the structure of complex symmetrical assemblies. We present a method to predict the structure of complexes with cubic - tetrahedral, octahedral and icosahedral - symmetry from sequence.

Design: Pragmatic, multicentre randomised trial.
Setting: Four Danish departments of gynaecology between May 2013 and May 2016.
Metabolomics samples like human urine or serum contain upwards of a few thousand metabolites, but individual analytical techniques can only characterize a few hundred metabolites at best. The uncertainty in metabolite identification commonly encountered in untargeted metabolomics adds to this low coverage problem. A multiplatform (multiple analytical techniques) approach can improve upon the number of metabolites reliably detected and correctly assigned.

Methods: An international multicenter cross-sectional questionnaire study was undertaken among female cancer survivors with endometrial, cervical, or ovarian cancer 1-7 years post diagnosis.
Background: In cystic fibrosis (CF), renal base excretion is impaired. Accordingly, challenged urine bicarbonate excretion may be an in vivo biomarker of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) function.
Objective: To evaluate the association between challenged bicarbonate excretion and clinical characteristics at baseline, quantify the CFTR modulator drug elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor-induced changes of challenged bicarbonate excretion after 6 months of treatment, and characterize the intraindividual variation in healthy adults.
Research within biological methanation has been a great development using biotrickling filters (BTF), as a power-to-x solution, but research within up scaling is missing. This study investigates the commercial potential of biomethanation in BTF by operating two 1 m reactors which was implemented into a full-scale biogas plant. Several areas were investigated, such as enrichment and start-up, long-term steady state operation, serial operation, and intermittent feed.

A similar pattern has been described in lymphomas but has not yet been comprehensively assessed. In this nationwide population-based cohort study, we used the Swedish Lymphoma Register to investigate sex differences in lymphoma subtype incidence and excess mortality in adults (age 18-99) diagnosed in 2000-2019.

This is particularly relevant for invertebrate studies, where bulk samples often represent insurmountable workloads for sorting, identifying, and counting individual specimens. On the other hand, image-based classification using deep learning tools have strict requirements for the amount of training data, which is often a limiting factor.

The aim was to enable middle-aged and older residents to participate in the research process of planning and evaluating the HPI, as well as in the activities it constituted. GF was used to document statements and inputs from residents through visual meeting minutes and resident experiences with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) lockdown were drawn by a graphic facilitator.

Background: Video consultation is increasingly used in different health care settings to reach patients. However, little is known about telehealth in psychological counselling for vulnerable patients with somatic and chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.
Objective: This study aimed to develop and pilot test a telepsychology module for inclusion in the app My Hospital (Mit Sygehus) to provide remote psychological counselling to vulnerable adults with either rheumatic diseases or diabetes.
The dire need for COVID-19 treatments has inspired strategies of repurposing approved drugs. Amantadine has been suggested as a candidate, and cellular as well as clinical studies have indicated beneficial effects of this drug. We demonstrate that amantadine and hexamethylene-amiloride (HMA), but not rimantadine, block the ion channel activity of Protein E from SARS-CoV-2, a conserved viroporin among coronaviruses.

Therapies targeting the latent reservoir within the allograft to mitigate viral transmission would represent a major advance. Here, we delivered an immunotoxin (F49A-FTP) that targets and kills latent HCMV aiming at reducing the HCMV reservoir from donor lungs using ex-vivo lung perfusion (EVLP).

In March 2020, a fast-track Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) solution was developed to ensure access to CF care without in-person hospital visits. This study investigated the feasibility of urgently replacing in-person appointments with remote monitoring using telephone consultations combined with PROs.
