Modeling of Multi-Electrode Arrays used in neural stimulation can be computationally challenging since it may involve incredibly dense circuits with millions of interconnected resistors, representing current pathways in an electrolyte (resistance matrix), coupled to nonlinear circuits of the stimulating pixels themselves. Here, we present a method for accelerating the modeling of such circuits while minimizing the error of a simplified simulation by using a sparse plus low-rank approximation of the resistance matrix. Background And Purpose: Volume regression during radiotherapy can indicate patient-specific treatment response. We aimed to identify pre-treatment multimodality imaging (MMI) metrics from positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and computed tomography (CT) that predict rapid tumor regression during radiotherapy in human papilloma virus (HPV) associated oropharyngeal carcinoma.
Materials And Methods: Pre-treatment FDG PET-CT, diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI), and intra-treatment (at 1, 2, and 3 weeks) MRI were acquired in 72 patients undergoing chemoradiation therapy for HPV+ oropharyngeal carcinoma.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate conversation hearing with an adaptive beamforming hearing aid that supports adaptive tracking of multiple talkers in an ecologically valid, real-world food court environment in a busy mall.
Method: Twenty older adult experienced hearing aid wearers with sensorineural hearing loss were fitted in the lab with binaural receiver-in-the-canal style hearing aids set with two programs, each having a different beamforming strategy. The participant and two researchers then met in a moderately noisy and reverberant food court at a local mall where the participant was asked to listen to a conversation between the two researchers.
