Research on central nervous system tumors (CNSTs) has a significant impact on the diagnosis and prognosis of patients. Currently, CNSTs are classified according to the schema proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which considers clinical, histopathological, and molecular characteristics, highlighting the importance of tumor biology for accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment approaches. Despite these advances, assessing DNA ploidy-a marker of tumor aggressiveness-remains complex in CNSTs.

This paper presents a transfer and deep learning based approach to the classification of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Five transfer learning models such as ResNet-50, AlexNet, MobileNet, VGG-16 and VGG-19, and a sequential convolutional neural network (CNN) have been implemented for SCD classification. ErythrocytesIDB dataset has been used for training and testing the models.

Background: Aminoglycoside resistance is a growing challenge, and it is commonly mediated by the aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes (AMEs), followed by 16S rRNA methyl transferase. Plazomicin, a novel aminoglycoside agent approved by the Food and Drug Administration for complicated urinary tract infections is proven to overcome resistance mediated by AMEs but not due to 16S rRNA methyl transferase (16SRMTases). We undertook this study to predict the efficacy of plazomicin in India based on the antimicrobial resistance profile derived from whole-genome sequencing (WGS).

Introduction: Despite legal protections for young workers in Canada, youth aged 15-24 are at high risk of traumatic occupational injury. While many injury prevention initiatives targeting young workers exist, the challenge faced by youth advocates and employers is deciding what aspect(s) of prevention will be the most effective focus for their efforts. A review of the academic and grey literatures was undertaken to compile the metrics-both the indicators being evaluated and the methods of measurement-commonly used to assess injury prevention programs for young workers.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) recently made a commitment to advancing a national culture of health (COH)-an action framework developed by RWJF that focuses on well-being and equity with the goal of empowering and supporting people to lead healthier lives where they live, learn, work, and play, now and in generations to come. Nurses are well positioned to provide care that is consistent with, and contributes to, a COH in their communities. RWJF contracted with the American Academy of Nursing (the Academy) with a subcontract to the RAND Corporation to explore the ways that innovative nurse-designed models of care are currently advancing a COH.

Reported are multi-component one-pot syntheses of chiral complexes [M(L(R) OR')Cl2 ] or [M(L(R) SR')Cl2 ] from the mixture of an N-substituted ethylenediamine, pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde, a primary alcohol or thiol and MCl2 utilizing in-situ formed cyclized Schiff bases where a C-O bond, two stereocenters, and three C-N bonds are formed (M=Zn, Cu, Ni, Cd; R=Et, Ph; R'=Me, Et, nPr, nBu). Tridentate ligands L(R) OR' and L(R) SR' comprise two chiral centers and a hemiaminal ether or hemiaminal thioether moiety on the dipicolylamine skeleton. Syn-[Zn(L(Ph) OMe)Cl2 ] precipitates out readily from the reaction mixture as a major product whereas anti-[Zn(L(Ph) OMe)Cl2 ] stays in solution as minor product.

The present study revealed the toxic effect of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in Artemia nauplii and evaluated the mortality rate, hatching percentage, and genotoxic effect in Artemia nauplii/cysts. The AgNPs were commercially purchased and characterized using field emission scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Nanoparticles were spherical in nature and with size range of 30-40 nm.

Background: Lead is a heavy toxic metal element in biological systems and is one of the major pollutants as a result of its widespread use in industries. In spite of its negative roles the coordination chemistry of Pb(II) complexes is a matter of interest. The N,N'-bidentate aromatic bases such as BPY,4-BPY and PHEN (BPY = 2,2'bipyridine, 4-BPY = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, PHEN = 1,10-Phenanthroline) are widely used to build supramolecular architectures because of their excellent coordinating ability and large conjugated system that can easily form π-π interactions among their aromatic moieties.
