Myosins make up a large super family of motor proteins responsible for actin-based motility in most eukaryotic cells. Myosin VIIA is essential for the development and function of sensory hair cells in the inner ear. The role of Myosin VIIA in the development of cochleovestibular ganglion (CVG) neurons in the mouse is largely unknown.
