Anticancer therapeutics can provoke severe side effects that impair the patient's quality of life. A frequent dose-limiting side effect of platinum-based anticancer therapy is neurotoxicity. Its pathophysiology is poorly understood, and effective preventive or therapeutic measures are missing.
