Safety and efficacy of erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet fractionated laser for treatment of acne scars in type IV to VI skin.

Background: Ablative resurfacing lasers are effective for treatment of acne scars, but they have a high risk of complications. Fractional lasers have less severe side effects but more moderate efficacy than ablative devices. Studies were performed in individuals with Fitzpatrick skin type I to VI.

Transverse melanonychia secondary to total skin electron beam therapy: a report of 3 cases.

Longitudinal melanonychia is a common phenomenon, known to be the result of numerous etiologies. Transverse melanonychia, on the other hand, is uncommon. It has been reported in association with conventional x-ray therapy, psoralen plus ultraviolet A, infliximab, zidovudine, antimalarials, and several chemotherapeutic agents.

UVA-1 as a treatment for scleredema.

Scleredema is a rare disease that is difficult to treat. Many therapies have been tried with varied and somewhat inconsistent results. Here we report two cases of scleredema successfully treated with low-dose UVA-1.
