Hormone-mediated maternal effects likely play a key role in shaping developmental trajectories of offspring in different environments. Thus, we measured corticosterone (Cort) and testosterone (T) concentrations in eggs across the laying sequence in addition to Cort concentrations in nestling and adult female house wrens (Troglodytes aedon) at one urban and one rural site.
