Aim: From 2015 to 2018, the 'Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injury (HAPI)' project was implemented in one local health district in Australia and utilised an implementation science approach to address rising pressure injury (PI) incidence and prevalence rates. This paper aims to examine whether the project was successful in sustaining low PI incidence and prevalence rates over the five-years following implementation (spanning the 2018/2019 to 2022/2023 financial years and the 2019-2023 calendar years).

This scoping review evaluates recent advancements in data-driven technologies for predicting non-neonatal pediatric sepsis, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other methodologies. In 2022-2023, the first survey of clinicians regarding infection of rabbits was undertaken. The purpose was to assess the current worldwide knowledge of clinicians regarding influence of breed and age, clinical presentations, use of various diagnostic tools, and treatment regimens and to explore how responses may differ by geographic location. Identifying mostly as exotic animal clinicians, 339 respondents participated, with nearly half from the United States and the remainder from 35 other countries.

Objective: This study aimed to characterize the bacterial and eukaryotic microbiota of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in domestic rabbits and to evaluate the effect of different diet characteristics, such as pelleting, extrusion, and hay supplementation.

Potential acute and chronic human health effects associated with exposure to cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins, including respiratory symptoms, are an understudied public health concern. We examined the relationship between estimated cyanobacteria biomass and the frequency of respiratory-related hospital visits for residents living near Green Bay, Lake Michigan, Wisconsin during 2017-2019. A 26-year-old, male eclectus parrot () was presented to its primary care veterinarian for a 10-day history of increased respiratory effort, lethargy, and a single episode of regurgitation. Hepatomegaly, proventricular enlargement, cranial displacement of the ventriculus, and coelomic effusion were suspected based on a 1-view radiographic image, and the patient was referred for further evaluation. Data on the occurrence and abundance of meso and microplastics for the South Pacific are limited and there is urgent need to fill this knowledge gap. Objective: To describe the diagnosis, management, and outcome of a ferret with spontaneous hemoperitoneum with surgical intervention and xenotransfusion of type A feline packed red blood cells (pRBCs).

Case Summary: A domestic ferret diagnosed with a spontaneous hemoperitoneum secondary to a hepatic mass received isotonic crystalloids, hypertonic saline, and an allogenic blood transfusion perioperatively. Postoperatively, the ferret developed progressive anemia and tachycardia refractory to fluid therapy and, given a lack of additional allogenic blood sources, received a xenotransfusion of feline pRBCs.

To assess potential dispersion of pollutants around Honiara, Solomon Islands, and Port Vila, Vanuatu, 3D ocean circulation models were developed using Telemac-3D. A series of scenarios then explore the vulnerability of the system and test potential control measures.
