Background: The aims of this study were to analyze the periodontal conditions among non-smokers, former smokers and current smokers in the two National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) acquired between 2009 to 2012 and determine the association between time since quitting smoking and periodontal status.
Methods: Smoking status and periodontal examination data from NHANES 2009 to 2010 and 2011 to 2012 were analyzed. Respondents included in the analysis were aged ≥18 years, had undergone a complete NHANES Oral Health - Periodontal Exam with all measurements recorded as required for the periodontal classification algorithm, and had complete data from the NHANES Smoking - Cigarette Use questionnaire.
This study aimed to evaluate the relationship among dental students' attendance at class lectures, use of online lecture materials, and performance in didactic courses. The study was conducted with second-year predoctoral students at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine during the fall semester of 2014. Three basic science and three preclinical dental courses were selected for evaluation.

Purpose: Our purpose was to study the association between atherosclerosis measured by arterial calcium on computed tomography (CT) and cerebral atrophy demonstrated by brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Materials And Methods: IRB approved this prospective study. Twenty-one consecutive patients with acute stroke-like symptoms who are scheduled to have brain MRI were recruited on a voluntary basis.
Purpose: To present an updated analysis of survival, recurrence rate, and toxicity for a cohort of women with early-stage breast cancer treated with high-dose-rate interstitial brachytherapy for accelerated partial breast irradiation.
Methods And Materials: From August 1997 to July 2001, a total of 32 women with 33 breast cancers were treated with interstitial high-dose-rate brachytherapy after breast-conserving surgery as part of a Phase I/II protocol. All patients had T1-2 tumors with < or b=3 axillary nodes positive, nonlobular histology, negative surgical margins, and no evidence of extracapsular lymph node extension.
