Psychiatric disturbances in idiopathic epilepsy.

Introduction: The relationship between epilepsy and psychiatric disorders has been highlighted for a long time. Idiopathic epilepsy is known to have a benign course in most cases. However, the association of psychiatric disturbances could worsen the disease outcome.

[Self-stigma and functioning in patients with bipolar disorder].

Unlabelled: Self-stigma of people with bipolar disorder is an underestimated problem, with serious consequences in terms of clinical severity and social and professional functioning.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate self-stigma in patients with bipolar disorder, to identify socio-demographic and clinical factors associated with it and to analyze the links between self-stigma and functioning in this population.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytic study including 61 patients with bipolar disorder meeting criteria of remission.

Quetiapine-associated thrombocytopenic purpura in a young man with a first episode schizophrenia.

Background: We aimed to contribute to the current limited literature addressing quetiapine-associated thrombocytopenia. We report the case of a young man with a first episode schizophrenia who experienced thrombocytopenic purpura following the administration of quetiapine co-prescribed with valproic acid.

Case Report: HA is a 19-year-old single man who had no history of systemic or hematologic diseases and no personal psychiatric history.
