Introduction: The choice of treatment for implant rehabilitation for maxillary atrophy is crucial. It involves either between the use of short implants or performing sinus lift and the establishment of standard implants: what would be the best choice in term of survival rate and complications? We conducted a systematic review to try to answer this question.
Materials And Methods: An electronic and manual search of clinical studies (between 2007 and 2017) comparing short implants to standard implants associated with sinus lift was performed.
Unlabelled: Insufficient bone volume for dental implant placement in the maxillary anterior segment is a constant challenge in oral surgery. Several techniques have been suggested to reconstruct deficient alveolar ridges and to facilitate dental implant placement. These techniques include bone splitting osteotomy, distraction osteogenesis, inlay and onlay bone grafting.

Within the goal of identifying anticancer agents, new pregnane derivatives were prepared by using a sequence of liquid and solid-phase reactions. After we dehydrated epi-allopregnanolone in one step with diethylaminosulfur trifluoride and generated a 2,3α-epoxide, the regio- and stereo-selective aminolysis of this epoxide enabled us to obtain a 2β-piperazino-pregnane, whose secondary amine was protected as N-Fmoc-derivative.

The screening of these aminosteroids revealed interesting structure-activity relationships. In library A, the compounds bearing a tetrahydroisoquinolone residue as the first element of diversity showed potent cytotoxicity, principally when isovaleric or cyclohexyl acetic acid was used as a capping group (>40% of cell growth inhibition at 1 μM).

We report the anaesthetic management of a 32-year-old pregnant women with aortic dissection and Marfan syndrome for caesarean section. The patient has presented at 31 weeks gestation of a first pregnancy an aortic dissection that required an emergency aortic replacement. Three years later, she presented at 31 weeks gestation with aortic dissection, mitral valve dysfunction and acute pulmonary oedema.

Objective: Evaluation of severe maternal morbidity in peripartum period leading to controlled ventilation in the obstetrical intensive care unit.
Study Design: A retrospective study was carried out during a period of three years, from March 1998 to March 2001, in the obstetrical intensive care unit (ICU) of Farhat Hached hospital, Sousse (Tunisia).
Patients And Methods: Twenty obstetric patients requiring controlled ventilation were admitted in the ICU.

Objectives: Our purpose was to describe the effects of serious obstetric complications on maternal and perinatal outcome in pregnancies complicated by Hellp syndrome.
Study Design: Retrospective study.
Patients: Sixteen patients managed from January 1994 through December 1998 in whom pregnancy was complicated by Hellp Syndrome.
We report a retrospective analysis of four cases of peripartum cardiomyopathy admitted, within a 10-year period, to the maternity hospital of Sousse. The age of the patients was over 30 years, two had gemellary pregnancies and two suffered toxaemia. Congestive cardiac failure, mainly of the left ventricle, with acute pulmonary oedema, was the main symptom.
