Peatlands are a major store of soil carbon, due to their high concentration of carbon-rich decayed plant material. Consequently, accurate assessment of peat volumes is important for determining land-use carbon budgets, especially in the Northern hemisphere. Determination of carbon stocks at the scale of individual peat sites has principally relied on either mechanical probing or electromagnetic geophysical methods.

The treatment protocol involved use of this debridement product plus standard of care. The sample comprised 21 patients with complex, non-healing wounds of various aetiologies.

In Queensland, Australia, return to work goals may be addressed through private or publicly funded rehabilitation services or through publicly funded employment programs. No set frameworks or processes are in place to guide clinicians in providing vocational rehabilitation to adults with ABI, and the extent to which services address clients' vocational goals and/or provide vocational rehabilitation is unknown.

We conducted an evaluation to examine the impacts, capacity, processes and barriers associated with D2A and to identify best practice across three sites in the southeast of England.
Methods: We interviewed 29 commissioners, providers and staff members involved in the delivery of D2A pathways within three Health and Care Partnerships.
Understanding tissue loss following injury is important due to its prevalence among the war-wounded and the impact it has on subsequent treatment and rehabilitation. Progressive tissue loss is a type of tissue loss that has complicated extremity injury in recent conflicts. It has resulted in more proximal residual limb lengths and has influenced rehabilitation.

Methods: The study comprised (i) a retrospective cohort: 177 PLA subjects from the National Primary Lymphatic Anomaly Register with clinical and laboratory data, and (ii) a prospective cohort: 28 patients with PLA and 20 healthy controls.
Study Objective: To investigate the feasibility and safety of the retropubic mid-urethral sling (MUS) procedure with a resorbable mesh implant made of poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB).
Design: A prospective clinical cohort study with 24 months follow-up.
Setting: A tertiary academic hospital.

Background: Stress urinary incontinence imposes a significant health and economic burden on individuals and society. Single-incision slings are a minimally-invasive treatment option for stress urinary incontinence. They involve passing a short synthetic device through the anterior vaginal wall to support the mid-urethra.

Providing VR as a component of standard ABI rehabilitation may improve access to VR and influence vocational outcomes. This study aimed to develop an evidence-based framework for the delivery of ABI VR during early transitional community rehabilitation.

Methods: Preclinical research with Dohne Merino ewes. Iatrogenic menopause was induced by bilateral ovariectomy (OVX).
Accurate medication lists are essential data required to make clinically informed decisions. Obtaining a comprehensive, up-to-date medication list is difficult for clinicians. Patients have limited input into reviewing and reconciling their own medication data.

This manuscript is a report on the forward deployment of acellular fish skin graft (FSG) from Kerecis™, a biologic, acellular matrix derived from the skin of wild-caught Atlantic cod that contains intact epidermis and dermis layers. The usual intention of treatment under adverse circumstances is to temporize wounds until better treatment can be attained, although ideally, rapid coverage and treatment are necessary to prevent long-term complications and loss of life and limb.

However, both field and pot experiments show a vast range of effects, from strong reductions to strong increases in runoff and/or soil erosion. Therefore, this study aimed to quantify and interpret the impacts of biochar on runoff and soil erosion through the first systematic meta-analysis on this topic.

The clinical evidence supporting the use of SIS-ECM has grown over the past several decades. This evidence base now encompasses a wide range of hard-to-heal wound indications, including DFUs and VLUs, as well as increasingly complex acute wound indications, such as delayed postoperative wounds, traumatic wounds and burns.

There is often a family history of lipoedema, suggesting a genetic origin, but the contribution of genetics is currently unclear. A tightly phenotyped cohort of 200 lipoedema patients was recruited from two UK specialist clinics.

Methods: The safety, feasibility, and reproducibility of vesicovaginal fistula creation were studied in 4 adult female sheep. A 1-cm fistula was created between the vagina and the bladder through a transvaginal approach.
