Article Synopsis
  • Molecular pathology advances are enhancing methods to detect disease predisposition, sub-clinical diseases, and improving diagnosis and treatment monitoring for melanoma.
  • Current melanoma prognosis relies on histological and clinical factors, but limitations exist, such as the inability to detect distant metastasis in thin melanomas.
  • New biomarkers related to melanoma progression could improve patient identification, treatment response monitoring, and potentially lead to better therapeutic options.
