The study focused on public school teachers and examined the link between sedentary behavior, its breaks, obesity, and cardiovascular risk factors in a sample of 245 teachers.
Results showed that 55.3% of teachers exhibited high sedentary behavior, which was significantly linked to abdominal obesity but not to other cardiovascular risk factors.
Conversely, teachers who took more breaks from sedentary activities during leisure time were less likely to have high blood pressure, indicating a potential protective effect.
