Intensity and frequency of moral distress in mental health nurses in Brazil.

Objective: To assess the intensity and frequency of moral distress in mental health nurses in Brazil.

Method: Cross-sectional study with 173 nurses from the Psychosocial Care Network in Brazil. The Brazilian Scale of Moral Distress in Nurses, adapted for the context of mental health, was used.

Psychiatric nursing and mental health teaching in relation to Brazilian curriculum.

Objectives: to know the scientific production on psychiatric nursing and mental health teaching in relation to Brazilian nursing curriculum.

Methods: an Integrative Literature Review with no temporal delineation, whose data collection took place in ten Brazilian and international databases, adding to the total 35 objects of analysis.

Results: a priori categories were adopted, consisting of the psychiatric nursing and mental health teaching in Brazil according to the 1923, 1949, 1962, 1972, 1994 and 2001 nursing curriculum, presented in the light of the dimensions: thought model; places of practice; methods or contents used; and profile or skills of the student.

From theory to practice, operating the clinical simulation in Nursing teaching.

Objective: To report the experience of the operationalization of clinical simulation as a pedagogical strategy in a subject of an undergraduate course in Nursing.

Method: Clinical simulation cycles were carried out following the steps of action research, such as: planning, action, observation and reflection, from March 2014 to July 2015 with 10 professors and 44 students from a Primary Care and Mental Health subject of an undergraduate course in Nursing.

Results: Five cycles of clinical simulation were performed, at the end of each cycle modifications were suggested by students and professors and the operation was adjusted to meet the needs of the subject.

Resilience of the health team in caring for people with mental disorders in a psychiatric hospital.

Objective: Evaluating and understanding the resilience process of the health team in caring for people with mental disorders in a psychiatric hospital.

Method: A mixed-method study with concomitant triangulation of data from a cross-sectional study, with health professionals, and Grounded Theory in the data. Quantitative data were collected using the Resilience Scale and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Influence of curricular reforms in mental health nursing education between 1969 and 2014.

Objective To analyze the influence of curricular changes in mental health nursing education at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Method Qualitative research, exploratory and descriptive. Data were collected in official ordinances in the Pedagogical Projects of the Nursing Course and in the Teaching Plans in the period from 1969 to 2014.

[Intervention in situations of psychic crisis: challenges and suggestions of a prehospital care staff].

A qualitative and descriptive research, aimed at knowing how the pre-hospital care professionals perceive the interventions towards people in mental crisis. The study was developed in Santa Catarina with four teams of basic life support units of the Department of Mobile Emergency Care, during April to June 2011. The Collective Subject Discourse was used as the method of analysis.

[The psychiatric nursing, ABEn and the Scientific Department of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing: progress and challenges].

This study contextualizes the Psychiatric Nursing and Mental Health in Brazil, considering the major historic, political and social factors that influence nursing care in this area. Reflections pointed to changes in the paradigm of psychosocial care considering the legal aspects that regulate the actions, progress and challenges experienced in the practice of Psychiatric Nursing in healthcare settings as well as in nursing education. It is essential to train professionals to work in management and assistance in perspective and interdisciplinary care network.
