Background: This study examined sociodemographic and tobacco-related factors of heated tobacco products (HTPs) use among adult ever smokers in South Korea where the sales of HTPs have been rapidly increasing since their launch in June 2017.
Methods: Before the launch of HTPs in Korea, participants comprised male ever smokers (234 current smokers and 37 quitters) who participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2015 to 2017 through one-to-one interview survey and agreed to participate in the follow-up surveys through telephone in December 2017. Data were analyzed using logistic regression, to explore sociodemographic and smoking behavior-related factors of HTPs use.
Change of Pyogenic and Tuberculous Spondylitis between 2007 and 2016 Year : A Nationwide Study.

Objective: We attempted to compare the incidence of pyogenic spondylitis (PS) and tuberculous spondylitis (TS) between 2007 and 2016. Furthermore, we investigated the patients who underwent surgery in 2016 compared to that in 2007.
Methods: We used a nationwide database managed by the Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) in 2007 and 2016.

Methods: We used a national database managed by the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) with data from the years 2007 and 2016. A total of 9655 newly diagnosed patients with PS or TS were correspondingly enrolled in the PS or TS group.
Web-Based Visualization of Scientific Research Findings: National-Scale Distribution of Air Pollution in South Korea.

Background: As scientific findings of air pollution and subsequent health effects have been accumulating, public interest has also been growing. Accordingly, web visualization is suggested as an effective tool to facilitate public understanding in scientific evidence and to promote communication between the public and academia. We aimed to introduce an example of easy and effective web-based visualization of research findings, relying on predicted concentrations of particulate matter ≤ 10 µg/m (PM) and nitrogen dioxide (NO) obtained from our previous study in South Korea and Tableau software.
