Article Synopsis
  • This study compares kidney transplant outcomes from donors aged 60+ to those aged 40-59, focusing on medium-term recipient and graft survival.
  • Results show that kidney recipients from older donors had higher serum creatinine levels, indicating poorer kidney function after 3 and 5 years, along with reduced recipient and graft survival times.
  • Cardiovascular disease as a cause of donor death is identified as a significant risk factor for kidney graft loss in the transplants from older donors.
