Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of patients with scoliosis from Australian primary care practices.
Methods: A retrospective review of 190 patient records from August 2017 to April 2020 from a private Australian clinical advisory service database was performed. Deidentified demographic and clinical data were collated and analyzed, along with information regarding the referring practitioners and any accompanying clinical or paraclinical information.
Objective: Scoliosis is a spinal deformation in which the spine takes a lateral curvature, generating an angle in the coronal plane. The conventional method for detecting scoliosis is measurement of the Cobb angle in spine images obtained by anterior X-ray scanning. Ultrasound imaging of the spine is found to be less ionising than traditional radiographic modalities.

Methods: CINAHL, Embase, CENTRAL, PubMed and PEDro were searched from database inception to the 30th of October, 2018.
Background: Quantitative objective measures to determine fusion achievement further enable the comparison of new technologies, such as interbody cage surface enhancement. Our aims were to compare in vivo biomechanical responses of ovine L4/5 lumbar motion segments with two cages: 1) Polyetheretherketone or 2) Polyetheretherketone with a nanosurfaced titanium porous scaffold from Nanovis, Inc.
Methods: Fourteen Merino sheep randomly received either 1) standard Polyetheretherketone cage or 2) Nanocoated Polyetheretherketone cage at L4/L5 with autologous bone graft.
[Purpose] There is a paucity of high-quality data pertaining to the conservative management of adult spinal deformity, particularly Scheuermann's kyphosis. Long-term follow-up data for both treated and untreated Scheuermann's patients is also lacking. Given that changes in sagittal balance are associated with increased morbidity, and that these changes are increasingly prevalent in the spines of ageing populations, it is imperative that potential strategies aimed at reversing or minimizing this type of deformity are explored.

Objective: To investigate the presence of a "functionally normal" cervical lordosis and identify if this and the amount of forward head posture are related to neck complaints.
Methods: Using the posterior tangent method, an angle of cervical lordosis was measured from C2 through C7 vertebrae on 277 lateral cervical x-rays. Anterior weight bearing was measured as the horizontal distance of the posterior superior body of the C2 vertebra compared to a vertical line drawn superiorly from the posterior inferior body of the C7 vertebra.
