Despite the growing deployment of the Montessori method in nursing homes, there is no instrument to measure its implementation fidelity, limiting the interpretation of results. Our aims are to i) develop an evaluation grid for the Montessori method in nursing homes; ii) explore its sensitivity to practice heterogeneity among institutions pre-training; and iii) study its sensitivity to change after the training. Based on literature and expert opinions, we created an evaluation grid.

The SARS-CoV-2 vaccination campaign began in France in December 2020 targeting institutionalized older population before having been evaluated in this population. The objective of our study was to assess the tolerability of vaccination 21 days (D21) and 90 days after the first vaccination (D90) in institutionalized old people.

In this work, we studied the release of marine long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA), depending on their presentation either in the form of phospholipids (PL) or triacylglycerol (TAG). Two formulations based on marine PL or TAG extracted from salmon heads () were prepared.

Method: A multiple baseline design was used, with 3 groups of 5 older adults with moderate to severe dementia.
Citrus black spot (CBS) caused by Phyllosticta citricarpa was reported for the first time in Tunisia in 2019. This was also the first reported occurrence of the disease in a Mediterranean climate. In Tunisia, CBS is mainly found in lemon (Citrus limon) orchards, and is seldom observed on sweet orange (Citrus × sinensis).

However, the effectiveness of this treatment is often limited by the low availability of targeted contaminants. Biosurfactants produced by some microorganisms can increase organic compound solubility and might then overcome this limitation.

The vertebral body must be structurally and dimensionally adequate to accommodate screw fixation, as determined radiographically. The best indication for VBT is a flexible single major thoracic curve with nonstructural compensating lumbar and proximal thoracic curves (Lenke 1A or 1B).

However, diagnostic quantification of biomarkers from DBS poses a major challenge. Clinical mass spectrometry can reliably quantify blood proteins in various research projects.

Promotion of physical activity and cardiac rehabilitation in this population requires assessing the level of aerobic fitness (VO2max) by a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET). Nevertheless, the interpretation of CPET in overweight/obese children with CHD remains challenging as VO2max is affected by both the cardiac condition and the body mass index (BMI).

The aim of the study was to demonstrate the practicality and medical utility of microsamples quantification using mass spectrometry (MS) in a clinical setting by comparing two types of microsamples for multiplex MS protein detection. In a clinical trial based on elderly population, we compared 2 µL of plasma to dried blood spot (DBS) with a clinical quantitative multiplex MS approach.

Hypothesis: ERAS reduces hospital costs (HC) and length of stay (LOS) without increasing pain or complications.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective comparative medical and economic study of 2 cohorts of patients who underwent PSF for AIS: a prospective group who underwent surgery with an ERAS protocol without a specially assigned care coordinator from 2020 to 2021 (n=30) and a retrospective group (control) who received standard care from 2017 to 2018 (n=30).
Background: No investigation has assessed frailty in the clinical setting of thermal/spa facilities, which often receive older patients with osteo-articular and musculoskeletal conditions.
Objective: To examine the prevalence of frailty in older adults receiving thermal/spa treatment and to gather preliminary evidence about the feasibility of integrating geriatric assessments, including frailty, in the routine clinical consultations in spa facilities.
Methods: Mixed design, with a quantitative cross-sectional investigation performed among 197 volunteer patients (mean age 73.
Dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) concentration distributions in the global surface ocean inform our understanding of marine biogeochemical processes such as nitrogen fixation and primary production. The spatial distribution of DOP concentrations in the surface ocean reflect production by primary producers and consumption as an organic nutrient by phytoplankton including diazotrophs and other microbes, as well as other loss processes such as photolysis. Compared to dissolved organic carbon and nitrogen, however, relatively few marine DOP concentration measurements have been made, largely due to the lack of automated analysis techniques.

Communication difficulties may partly explain this poor quality of care but the influence of stigmatization on pain assessment has never been explored.
Research Question: The objective of this research was to analyze whether a diagnosis label of Alzheimer's disease or the stage of the disease may bias pain assessment scores and empathic reactions of health care staff in nursing homes.
Femoral neck screwing during child development is controversial. The objective of this study was to evaluate the residual growth of the capital femoral physis after screw fixation. This retrospective study included children aged younger than 12 years treated for slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) with a single percutaneous partially threaded cannulated screw.

Rhizomelic SEMD is characterized by a disproportionate small stature caused by severe shortening and deformation of the limbs' proximal bones, with the cranio-facial sphere unaffected. We report a second individual, an 8-year-old girl, with autosomal recessive rhizomelic SEMD associated with a homozygous exonic missense variant, c.

Objective: The objective of the study was to know if coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks can occur in NH with high vaccination coverage among its residents.
Methods: We identified, using national professional networks, NH that suffered COVID-19 outbreaks despite having completed a vaccination campaign, and asked them to send data, using predefined collecting forms, on the number of residents exposed, their vaccination status and the number, characteristics, and evolution of patients infected.
Sarcopenia is defined as a progressive and generalised loss of muscle strength, muscle mass and physical performance with advancing age. Among the multiple consequences of sarcopenia, the reduction in the quality of life associated with it can undeniably be considered as a major consequence. Quality of life is measured via generic or specific questionnaires.
