We studied the effects of a bacterium (Pseudomonas chlororaphis) and a bactivorous protozoan (Uronema sp.) on transformations of labile dissolved organic carbon (DOC). In 36-day time series experiments, bacteria were grown on glucose both with and without protozoa.
