Accuracy Assessment of Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Placement Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography with Metal Artifact Reduction.

Metal artifact reduction (MAR) algorithms are used with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) during augmented reality surgical navigation for minimally invasive pedicle screw instrumentation. The aim of this study was to assess intra- and inter-observer reliability of pedicle screw placement and to compare the perception of baseline image quality (NoMAR) with optimized image quality (MAR). CBCT images of 24 patients operated on for degenerative spondylolisthesis using minimally invasive lumbar fusion were analyzed retrospectively.

Percutaneous Cryoablation for Recurrent Head and Neck Tumors.

Purpose: To report techniques and results of 16 cryoablation procedures in 11 patients treated for recurrent head and neck cancer.

Methods And Materials: This retrospective study reviewed 11 consecutive patients with head and neck cancer recurrence after primary treatment by surgery and radiotherapy, treated with cryoablation between 2016 and 2020. Efficacy was measured by local control rate evaluated on MRI or/and PET.

Occupancy of dopamine D and D receptors by a novel D3 partial agonist BP1.4979: a [C]-(+)-PHNO PET study in humans.

There has been considerable interest in the development of dopamine D3 receptor (DRD) partial agonists and antagonists for the treatment of substance use disorders. Pre-clinical evidence overwhelmingly supports the use of these drugs, but translation to humans has remained elusive due to the lack of selective compounds that are suitable for use in humans. Although it has been established for full antagonists, little in vivo occupancy data are available with DRD partial agonists.

Imidazole derivatives as a novel class of hybrid compounds with inhibitory histamine N-methyltransferase potencies and histamine hH3 receptor affinities.

In this study, a novel series of imidazole-containing compounds with dual properties, that is, inhibitory potency at the enzyme histamine N(tau)-methyltransferase (HMT) and antagonist potency at histamine H(3) receptors was designed and synthesized. Pharmacologically, these new hybrid drugs were evaluated in functional assays for their inhibitory potencies at rat kidney HMT and for their antagonist activities on synaptosomes of rat cerebral cortex. For selected compounds, binding affinities at recombinant human histamine H(3) receptors were determined.
