Phytoremediation of metals from water (WM) and nutrient (NM) media exposed to waste metal cutting fluid (WMCF) along with temperature (T) and humidity (H) stress was tested using Azolla imbricata (Roxb.) Nakai. In the absence of WMCF, biomass was higher in NM than in WM during all tests.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluated the effects of metal oxide nanoparticles (CdO-NP and CuO-NP) on the germination and growth of Vigna radiata in soils, with one group tested with sawdust and another without.
  • Findings showed that seed germination was significantly affected by the type of nanoparticles and the presence of sawdust, with better results in sawdust-treated soil.
  • The results suggest that sawdust can reduce the toxic effects of nanoparticles, improve plant growth, and decrease heavy metal accumulation in the plants.

Purpose: We investigated the use of blood color brightness and blood gas variables for discriminating arterial from venous puncture during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The study's aims were to determine if discrimination using Po2 is superior to using blood color brightness, and if blood color brightness, Po2, and acid-base variables derived from blood gas analysis accurately discriminate arterial from venous blood during CPR.

Methods: Fifteen pigs underwent ventricular fibrillation followed by CPR.
