Indian Academy of Pediatrics Consensus Guidelines for Adolescent Friendly Health Services.

Justification: Adolescent health is critical to the current and future well- being of the world. Pediatricians need country specific guidelines in accordance with international and national standards to establish comprehensive adolescent friendly health services in clinical practice.

Process: Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) in association with Adolescent Health Academy formed a committee of subject experts in June, 2019 to formulate guidelines for adolescent friendly health services.

Quality of life and perceived financial implications among otorhinolaryngologists during the COVID-19 pandemic across India.

Objective: The changing trends in medical practice, uncertainties and monetary apprehensions due to the COVID-19 pandemic may influence the sense of well-being among otorhinolaryngologists. The present study was conducted to evaluate quality of life (QOL) and perceived financial implications in otorhinolaryngologists during the COVID-19 pandemic across India.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among otorhinolaryngology specialists across India using WHOQOL-BREF and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Financial Well-Being Scale questionnaires on Google Forms, which was kept open for the latter half of July 2020.

A case report of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis following severe dengue in a child.

Introduction: Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a rare neurological complication seen in association with severe dengue infection. Here we report a case of a six-year-old male child with ADEM following dengue fever.

Case Report: A six-year-old boy was admitted with fever, hematuria, and melena of five days duration.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection: Does Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy Influence Ear Nose Throat Manifestations?

To study the change in trend of ear, nose and throat (ENT) manifestations in patients who were on treatment, before and after availability of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). To find out the prevalence of ENT manifestations in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected people who were on treatment, in the year of 2004 (before the availability of HAART) and in 2014 (after the availability of HAART). A combination of a retrospective and prospective study.

Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Ear Care in Coastal Karnataka.

Introduction: Ear as an organ is necessary for the perception of sound and body balance. Ear infection, diabetes mellitus, hypertension and excessive use of mobile phone for listening to music at high volume all can reduce hearing. No earlier study was available in the costal Karnataka population, regarding the practice of ear care.

Nephropathic Cystinosis Presenting as Renal Fanconi Syndrome without Glycosuria.

Renal Fanconi syndrome is diagnosed by its cardinal features of glycosuria without diabetes, aminoaciduria, phosphaturia, and renal tubular acidosis. It is often associated with hypokalaemia, hypophosphatemia and rickets. We report a seven-year-old boy with nephropathic cystinosis who presented with all the cardinal features of renal Fanconi syndrome associated with rickets, pathological fractures, stage IV chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hypothyroidism.

Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome in children: 3 cases with review of literature.

Objectives: To highlight the varied clinical manifestations and management of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome, a rare disorder in children.

Methods: Retrospective review of case records of 3 patients who were diagnosed to have idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (IHES) in a tertiary referral centre between 1997 and 2010 was performed. These 3 children presented with different symptoms and the first case had cardiac involvement.
