Aim: To compare and evaluate the efficacy of 10% sodium ascorbate (SA) solution, 10% alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) solution, 10% propolis solutions (PLS), and 10% pomegranate peel extract (PPE) solution on the shear bond strength (SBS) between composite resin and bleached enamel after 60 minutes.

Materials And Methods: Ninety extracted teeth were divided into 6 subgroups ( = 15) based on the antioxidant applied: Group I: Bleaching + application of 10% SA solution for 60 minutes. Group II: Bleaching + application of 10% ALA solution for 60 minutes.

The purpose of this study is to describe a technique of using an affordable suture anchor for various soft tissue repairs of both upper and lower limb surgeries in our series of patients. Eighteen patients with minimum 1-year follow-up after various upper limb surgeries using modified suture anchor were assessed both clinically and radiographically. In all 18 cases, the purpose of the suture anchor was served in terms of attachment of ligament or the tendon.

Unlabelled: We propose an automated low cost tool for early diagnosis of onset of osteoporosis using cortical radiogrammetry and cancellous texture analysis from hand and wrist radiographs. The trained classifier model gives a good performance accuracy in classifying between healthy and low bone mass subjects.

Introduction: Wide awake surgery of the hand (WASH) is a well-accepted technique in hand surgery which allows the surgeon to identify and rectify on the table of some of the inadvertent shortcomings in the surgical procedures to optimise the final outcome. The advantage, however, precludes the use of tourniquet. We describe a modified method which preserves all the advantages of WASH and allows the surgeon to use tourniquet.

Ultrasound guidance for steroid injection in de Quervain disease is useful in identifying the presence of subcompartments and effectively injecting the drug into tendon sheath. We prospectively studied 50 patients with features of de Quervain disease to determine the effectiveness of ultrasound in positioning of needle for steroid injection and effectiveness of single versus multiple injections in the presence of subcompartments. Scalp vein set was inserted into the tendon sheath under ultrasound guidance and sterile conditions.

Background: Unstable fractures of the metacarpal and phalangeal bones of the hand need surgical stabilization which should be rigid enough for early active mobilization. Conventional methods of open reduction and stabilization in the form of composite fixation or screws with or without plates have served the purpose but can be definitely improvised addressing both biological and mechanical principles of fixation.

Materials And Methods: 34 patients (29 males and 5 females) with an average age of 32 years (range 10-64 years) with unstable fractures of the metacarpal and phalangeal bones of hand who were treated with the modified bone tie between June 2009 and June 2013 were included in this study.
