The DNA damage response (DDR) mechanisms that allow cells to tolerate DNA replication stress are critically important for genome stability and cell viability. Using an unbiased genetic screen we identify a role for the RING finger E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF25 in promoting DNA replication stress tolerance. In response to DNA replication stress, RNF25-deficient cells generate aberrantly high levels of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), accumulate in S-phase and show reduced mitotic entry.

RNF168 orchestrates a ubiquitin-dependent DNA damage response to regulate the recruitment of repair factors, such as 53BP1 to DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs). In addition to its canonical functions in DSB signaling, RNF168 may facilitate DNA replication fork progression. However, the precise role of RNF168 in DNA replication remains unclear.

Introduction: Bilobed PMMC flap is done for patients who have diseases that require resection of oral cavity mucosa along with the overlying skin, either because of direct tumor invasion to the skin or for achieving adequate tumor-free base of resection. The versatility of the flap allows it to be used to cover both inner and outer linings for a full-thickness defect.

Materials And Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective, observational study carried out in the Department of Head and Neck Oncology at a regional cancer center from January 2019 to December 2019.

Stringent control of centrosome duplication and separation is important for preventing chromosome instability. Structural and numerical alterations in centrosomes are hallmarks of neoplastic cells and contribute to tumorigenesis. We show that a Centrosome Amplification 20 (CA20) gene signature is associated with high expression of the Tripartite Motif (TRIM) family member E3 ubiquitin ligase, TRIM69.

The uniqueness of this case is the presentation of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors arising from the mandible as a colossal tumor of size of about 28 cm and weight of 1.5 kg after the first cycle of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy remains controversial and can be avoided if margin negative resection is feasible.

The gold standard reconstructive options for full-thickness defect of the oral cavity after resection of malignant lesions are the free flaps. But in developing nations due to resource constraints, it cannot be offered to all. Hence, pectoralis major myocutaneous (PMMC) flap as bilobed flaps is most commonly used.

Background: Children with asthma have low vitamin D levels; however, we do not know whether low vitamin D is associated with impaired T-regulatory (Treg) cell population or high IgE receptors (CD23 and CD21) on B cells.

Objective: To examine Treg cell function, CD23 and CD21 receptors, vitamin D, and vitamin D-regulating enzymes in children with asthma.

Methods: Sixty children (2-6 years old) with asthma and 60 age-matched healthy children were selected as study participants.

Regulatory T cells and IgE receptors (CD23 and CD21) on B cells were assessed in vitamin D deficient pregnant women. For this, 153 pregnant women were recruited from a government hospital and were categorized into three groups based on 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)D3) status. Regulatory T cell population (Treg cells) and CD23/CD21 expression on B cells were quantified by FACS ARIA II in maternal blood at third trimester; and the same parameters were evaluated in cord blood soon after delivery.

The left superior laryngeal artery was observed arising from the external carotid artery instead of the superior thyroid artery in the cadaver of an approximately 70 year-old Asian man. In addition, on the same side, the superior thyroid artery arose from the common carotid artery 2 cm before the bifurcation instead of its usual origin from the external carotid artery. From the external carotid artery, the lingual and facial arteries arose from the common linguofacial trunk.

[reaction: see text] Polymer-supported bisBINOL ligands were successfully utilized for the immobilization of multicomponent asymmetric catalysts. The polymer-supported Al-Li-bis(binaphthoxide) (ALB) catalyst was more effective than the dendrimer-supported ALB in the Michael reaction of 2-cyclohexen-1-one with dibenzyl malonate affording the adduct in 91% yield with 96% ee. The polymer was also effective for the immobilization of a mu-oxodititanium complex that promoted carbonyl-ene reaction of ethyl glyoxalate with alpha-methyl styrene to provide the adduct with up to 98% ee.

A major limitation to progress in primate embryology is the lack of an adequate supply of preimplantation embryos. We describe a method for recovering preimplantation-embryos in bonnet monkeys (Macaca radiata ) using a nonsurgical uterine flushing technique similar to the one previously employed in rhesus monkeys. Forty cyclic females were screened for cervical cannulation, and 10% of these had an impassable cervix.
