Herein we describe the synthesis of Cu sensor, 2,2'-((1E,1'E)-((4-chloro-1,2-phenylene)bis(azaneylylidene))bis(methane-ylylidene))bis(4-bromophenol) (CPMB) and characterization using various spectral and analytical techniques. CPMB exhibited high selectivity towards Cu ions via fluorescence quenching mechanism, which combined the character of high selectivity towards Cu assay even in the presence of other common metal ions such as Cu, Al, Co, Ni, Mn, Zn Pb Cd, Fe, Hg, Mg and Fe (30 μM) ethanol-water (1:9 v/v) system. Upon the addition of the solution of Cu ions to CPMB, the complexation of Cu with CPMB leads to the immediate formation of light green color, indicating that CPMB can act as simple colorimetric sensor, particularly for Cu in the presence of most interfering metal ions in ethanol-water medium.

The emerging interest in the field of coordination chemistry and their biological applications has created a novel impact in the field of chemical biology. With this motivation, in this work we have synthesized a novel benzimidazole derived imine ligand, 2-((E)-((1H-benzo[d]-2-yl)methylimino)methyl)-4-fluorophenol () and its Co(III) and Cu(II) complexes. The metal complexes (-) were synthesized in 2:1 (: metal ion) and 1:1:1 (: metal ion: 1,10-phen) ratios.

Four Schiff base ligands and their corresponding organotin(IV) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, (1)H NMR, MS and thermal studies. The Schiff bases are obtained by the condensation of 3-amino-2-methyl-4(3H)-quinazolinone with different substituted aldehydes. The elemental analysis data suggest the stoichiometry to be 1:1 ratio formation.

A two dimensional mathematical model was generated, representing a three unit fixed-fixed partial denture and its supporting structures. Second premolar and second molar were used as abutments with first molar as pontic. A load of 1 kg was applied to the occlusal surface of the casting.

Starting with cow dung, a mixed culture capable of producing biogas by the anaerobic digestion of castor cake (oil expelled) has been isolated and stabilized. The biogas so produced contains small quantities of ethane, propane and butane in addition to methane and carbon dioxide which are the major constituents. This suggests that the mixed culture contains organisms hitherto unisolated and unidentified which are capable of synthesizing these hydrocarbons through the mediation of the alkyl derivatives of coenzyme M.
