Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV; initially known as Henoch-Schönlein purpura) is a form of vasculitis involving the small blood vessels of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, joints, and kidney, presenting as a multisystem disorder. A 21-year-old gentleman presented with joint pain, skin rash, abdominal pain, and proteinuria. Biopsies performed from the skin and kidney were both consistent with IgA deposition.

INO presents with diplopia and impaired adduction of the affected eye, accompanied by abducting eye nystagmus. The condition also arises from different etiologies which include multiple sclerosis, encephalitis, Lyme disease, HIV, and herpes zoster.

The present study involved the relative expression analysis of genes associated with myometrial contraction in medium-sized dog breeds with uterine inertia. Dogs without any progress in the parturition process even after four hours of the onset of labor and the absence of uterine contractions were considered to have complete primary uterine inertia (CPUI, n = 9).

However, surgical lung biopsy has its own set of complications. Hence transbronchial lung cryobiopsy has been used in various studies of adult interstitial lung disease (ILD) with good yield and minimal complications.

Socioeconomic factors, problems with medical infrastructure, insufficiency in the supply of medical requisites, economic disparities due to major differences in diabetes care delivery in the government and private sectors and difficulty in accessing quality health care facilities challenges effective diabetes care in India. The article gives insights into the practical solutions and the proposed White paper model to resolve major challenges faced by the Indian diabetes care sector for effective diabetes care delivered at Jothydev's Diabetes Educational Forum Global Diabetes Convention 2019.

This finding highlights the value of healthcare providers being aware of risk for melioidosis in febrile patients, of residents taking precautions when outside, and of increasing environmental surveillance for B. pseudomallei in this region.

Even in the linear case, the sharp result is new and, to our knowledge, improves all previous results. Furthermore, our method has the advantage of being simple to prove, as it relies just on sequentially improved monotonicities of a positive solution.

There is a significant need in the current industrial scenario for methods to be formulated to treat dangerous chemicals most safely. Accidental release of toxic chemicals will result in emergencies. Hence, an emergency response plan (ERP) is inevitable.

Suitable modifications in cell-block techniques are beneficial for improving the turnaround time. We share our experience of a rapid microwave cell-block (MCB) technique.

The cyclic voltammograms in a mixed solution of CT and HQ have shown that the oxidation peaks become well resolved and were separated by 110 mV, although the bare GCE gave a single broad oxidation peak. Moreover, the oxidation peak currents of both CT and HQ were remarkably increased three times in comparison with the bare GCE.

The particle size and phases was analysed by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) which brought out the formation of cubic phase in the synthesized samples. Field Emission Scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) revealed the surface morphology and made up of cumulative form of platelet shaped arrays with an average size of 10nm.

Ossicular necrosis and erosion is commonly seen in CSOM with cholesteatoma but can also occur in tubotympanic CSOM. This usually comes as a surprise during surgery. Preoperative knowledge of ossicular necrosis helps the surgeon to be better prepared for the surgery and ossicular construction if required.

Supercritical carbon dioxide using ethanol as co-solvent was employed to extract cholesterol from whole milk powder (WMP). This study was undertaken to optimize the process parameters of supercritical fluid extraction (SCFE), viz.

Currently, there are no therapies available to treat or prevent cisplatin nephrotoxicity. Since histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibition augments cisplatin anti-tumor activity, we tested whether HDAC inhibitors can prevent cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and determined the underlying mechanism.

Diabetic nephropathy is characterized by inflammation, fibrosis, and oxidant stress, pathologic features that are shared by many other chronic inflammatory diseases. The cytokine IL-17A was initially implicated as a mediator of chronic inflammatory diseases, but recent studies dispute these findings and suggest that IL-17A can favorably modulate inflammation.

Despite greater understanding of acute kidney injury (AKI) in animal models, many of the preclinical studies are not translatable. Most of the data were derived from a bilateral renal pedicle clamping model with warm ischemia. However, ischemic injury of the kidney in humans is distinctly different and does not involve clamping of renal vessel.

However, the role of its receptor UNC5B in diabetic kidney disease is unknown. Moreover, whether netrin-1 is protective against diabetic kidney disease in a genetic model of nephropathy and in the nephropathy prone DBA background is also unknown.

For example, miR-150 is down-regulated in patients with acute myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, dilated and ischaemic cardiomyopathy as well as in various mouse heart failure (HF) models. Circulating miR-150 has been recently proposed as a better biomarker of HF than traditional clinical markers such as brain natriuretic peptide.
