Introduction: The common genetic underpinnings of psoriasis and pulmonary comorbidities have yet to be explored.

Material And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we investigated the single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with psoriasis and their relationship with pulmonary function using data from the UK Biobank (UKBB) and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Biobank (BioVU).

Results: Out of the 63 psoriasis-associated SNPs identified in previous genome-wide association studies within the European population, we successfully identified 53 SNPs, including proxy SNPs in UKBB database.

The CD8 co-receptor exists as both an αα homodimer, expressed on subsets of specialized lymphoid cells, and as an αβ heterodimer, which is the canonical co-receptor on cytotoxic T-cells, tuning TCR thymic selection and antigen-reactivity in the periphery. However, the biophysical parameters governing human CD8αβ interactions with classical MHC class I (MHCI) and unconventional MHC-like molecules have not been determined. Using hetero-dimerized Fc-fusions to generate soluble human CD8αβ, we demonstrate similar weak binding affinity to multiple different MHCI alleles compared with CD8αα.

Autoantibodies contribute to many autoimmune diseases, yet there is no approved therapy to neutralize them selectively. A popular mouse model, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), could serve to develop such a therapy, provided we can better understand the nature and importance of the autoantibodies involved. We report the findings of a genome-wide association study (GWAS) meta-analysis of endometriosis consisting of a large portion (31%) of non-European samples across 14 biobanks worldwide as part of the Global Biobank Meta-Analysis Initiative (GBMI). We identified 45 significant loci using a wide phenotype definition, seven of which are previously unreported and detected first genome-wide significant locus ( ) among only African-ancestry. This work extends recent developments in diacetylene-based, sprayable sensors by identification and assessment of formulations which facilitate their use for wearable sensing. Diacetylene-based spray-on sensors have the potential to be a widely deployed sensing technology, as they require no power and can be applied as thin coatings onto surfaces to provide a colorimetric response to target exposure. In responding to radiation, liquid-phase targets, or gas-phase targets specifically determined by the formulation of the sprayable sensor used, this technology is amenable to wearable sensors for measuring exposure to different environmental risks.

Sprayable stimuli-responsive material coatings represent a new class of detection system which can be quickly implemented to transform a surface into a color-responsive sensor. In this work, we describe a dipicolylamine-terminated diacetylene-containing amphiphile formulation for spray coating on to a simple paper substrate to yield disposable test strips that can be used to detect the presence of lead ions in solution. We find the response to be very selective to only lead ions and that the sensitivity can be modulated by altering the UV curing time after spraying.
