Background: Although the usefulness of the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) in predicting clinical deterioration or the need for intensive care unit (ICU) admission has been evaluated in several studies, only few reports have considered the immune status of the patient. Patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer are at risk of sepsis. This study aimed to assess the validity of MEWS in predicting clinical deterioration, ICU admission, and mortality among immunocompromised cancer patients on chemotherapy (CPOC).

Biliary atresia with an unusual abdominal orientation: A case report.

Introduction: Biliary atresia (BA) is a rare condition where the hepatic or common bile ducts get obliterated by fibrous tissue for unknown causes. It is diagnosed in 5-10 per 100,000 live births worldwide in whom liver injury and death are definite if untreated.
