Case Presentation: A 33-year-old Chilean man with fever secondary to parainfluenza 2 virus infection developed progressive cholestasis, hepatosplenomegaly, cytopenia and an increased ferritin level (>2000 IU/L). A bone marrow analysis showed hemophagocytosis.
